Some ASU fan called the radio station this morning to complain nobody besides Michigan will play them in 2007. My opinion is that no one they want to play will play them.
Does anybody have any info on this? Im sure a lot of people would want to play ASU, but ASU wont play them.

As much as I'd like to write a scathing retort to this post, there may be some validity to their comment. App will probably easily be as strong this year as last and some of the average BCS teams could really loose face by loosing to a 1-AA team.

I there are points to both sides of the argument. App would obviously prefer to play an all DI schedule and many FBS schools aren't interested in taking the chance of loosing. I'm sure there are some DII teams that would play us, but that won't help our schedule strength and the wins won't count toward playoff eligibility.

Actually eff...its a catch 22...
I think lizard validates my point. ASU only wants to play who they want to play. So, they shouldnt be calling saying no one will play them...
And I wonder what firebird meant when he said he wanted to write a scathing post. Scathing against me or against ASU?

Guess that wasn't too clear was it? Against the complaint that the ASU fan made on the radio station.

But you're saying you'd rather just fill up your schedule with a bunch of DII teams than try to get the best schedule possible? I don't think so.

well i would complain too if i was the top and couldnt get anyone to play that was in my devision. On the otherhand I doubt App would have to play DII, there are loads of DI that would love to play them. There main problem is there looking too much into the Bowl league, which is understandable buthard as long as there is seperation between leagues.

Well....does anyone have a suggestion.....I really think ASU is having a hard time finding anyone to play them. If not they would have done it by now. I believe they could have worked out some games with teams way out West, but there was not enough guarantee to pay the bills in scheduling them. Remember, I believe it is about the third and fourth weekend of September they have open.

i think if they went for the bottom of the bowl league teams or any champions league they would be fine. there issues arise because they want teams in the BCS hunt

i think if they went for the bottom of the bowl league teams or any champions league they would be fine. there issues arise because they want teams in the BCS hunt We've already got our payday game for the season. At this point I think they're just looking for any possible FCS team where the finances work out. The main problem is that many of the FCS teams that would play us were already booked for the dates we have open. Our previous AD really left us in the crunch as far as near-term OOC games go. He knew he was leaving so he didn't bother with them.
