Well ESPN did it a little while ago and I have seen everyone and their mother copy the idea. Therefore I am going to copy it and bring it to Elon.
While my history does not go way way back into the early times of Elon I would like to think I have some grasp on it but I am defn looking for opinions on this one.
So here is who I put on my Elon Mount Rushmore:
(The first two I feel are definite fixtures no matter what anyone says, the other two I feel are debatable)
1. Dr. Alan White (administration) - this is the man who vaulted us into division I from NAIA. He had the vision and ran with it convincing administration and overall school to follow. Without him we would be nowhere close to where we are now.
2. Jerry Tolley (coach) - Two National championships are gonna put you up here for me. He took a college football program and made it a powerhouse, and defn laid down a foundation for the future years of Elon football.
3. Kay Yow (coach) - She only coached the women's basketball team for fours years, but she won state championships and single handily started our women's program. Little side note she also coached Volleyball at Elon for a couple of years too.
4. Actually I am going to leave this one open because I am torn.
I am sure there are some older athletes I have no idea about and could be clued in on. Then there are others like Frank Haith, Jack McKeon, Jim Morris, Joe West, and Chad Nkang.
So I am looking for who else, and I know a lot of you know exactly who should be here, so tell me.
