Coming out of high school he was a three star recruit by both Rivals and Scout. He was rated as something like the 60 and 90 ranked player nationwide at his position and rated as a potential pro prospect. He could have a significant impact.
I did not see the other OL transfer on the roster - from Akron I think. He must have changed his mind.

Here is an old scouting report. He has lost alot of weight since high school.
April 7, 2004 - OT DAVE MCCLAIN^ (6-5, 335, 5.3) of Central Bucks South, Pennsylvania - McClain is a very good offensive lineman who has excellent feet and mobility. He already looks like he is getting ready for the NFL. He played for Central Bucks East as a Freshman, sophomore, and last year as a junior, but he will move to Central Bucks South as a senior. He was so impressive at the NIKE Camp at Maryland, the Terps offered him a scholarship and he accepted it. He also plays some on defense, but his position at the next level is probably going to be at an offensive guard or offensive tackle. On film, he is really a dominating blocking lineman who over-powers his opponent at either the point of attack or down the field. I really like this kid and his potential. His original favorites included Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse. He might visit Michigan and Ohio State, but although he may take some other visits, he says that he is still committed to Maryland. At the Maryland NIKE Camp, he did an outstanding 28-inch vertical jump at 335-pounds. He also did a 575 in the squat and his best bench press is a 335-pounds. On film, McClain is a very aggressive offensive lineman with a great work ethic and a willingness to block every player to the ground or down the field. On film, ne also looks like he is very quick and agile. He definitely does not look like a typical 335-pound offensive lineman. He plays basketball and throws the shot putt in track, so he is also very athletic. He carries a 2.9 GPA and he recently took his ACT Test. He should have no trouble being a full qualifier. AUGUST 1, 2004 UPDATE: McClain has improved his speed to 5.21 and he now weighs around 323 pounds. He also has given a verbal to MARYLAND. HE SIGNED WITH RUTGERS.

There may be a couple of more transfers in camp, both on "D" and both potential starters. One is "D-line the other LB.

Dave McClain is true. He's been working out at Elon. I've heard nothing about other transfers. I have heard that Coach Lembo had some extra schollies that he was trying to use to get some quality transfers though. I hope it's true!

I mean the newest roster, the one in the media guide is a few months old. Pretty much what it was at the end of spring training. Since you have to send all that informaion off to the presses your last minute additions arent added. They should update the one on the webpage sometime around the start of classes

The one in the media guide is the most up to date there is. The mg doesn't hit the printer until early July.
