Huge!!!!Great series to win on the road. It shows the rest of the SoCon that we are not going to give up the throne without a fight. Great outings today from Clark and Medick.

Niko Fraser robs a grand slam in game one, Spencer Medick strikes out 10 in seven innings in his first start and Jake Luce hits a homer in the 10th. This is gigantic! Great start to the SoCon season.

I said in a previous thread that Spencer Medick would be one to watch!
Good series win for the team, and in dramatic fashion!
I sure hope the hitting picks up some steam. Though the pitching looks strong, we have to find a way to provide some run support. I know 6 of the games have been against ranked teams, but we have only one player batting above .300 and the team is batting .216 as a whole.

11 games so far and 6 against ranked teams, real tough way to start the season. But for a team that is sapost to be rebuilding only loosing 4 of those games is not bad

If you want to see the Niko grab, it's a thing a beauty! Check out the highlights on the CoC website. It's about 1:56 into the video: www.cofcsports.com/

Definitely can't complain too much about the start of the season considering the competition. All 6 of those games against ranked opponents were on the road as well. The pitching is going to carry the team this year, but the bats are going to have to get better for sure. At some point the average has to climb a bit higher and maybe when the competition isn't so strong it will. But there have been 5 games against lower opponents that we didnt hit extremely well against either. Then again we won the conference last year without a lot of batting, just scrappy play - getting walks and HBP to get on base and then aggressive base running.
The tough schedule continues Wednesday with UNC at home and then GaSouthern over the weekend - GSU lost Victor Roach to a season ending wrist injury, but they are still a solid team.

Just noticed that Kendall Rogers at PerfectGame.org - who does some really great college baseball coverage - is doing his own personal Top 50 and has Elon in at 44 above CofC and GaSo.
