I certainly hope, and think, this team can finish the regular season strong. If the season ended as the warrennolan.com predictor indicates, the team could surely make a case for an at large bid should they not win the tourney.
Overall record: 36-19 RPI: 22 SOS: 23
There are some big OOC game still remaining on the schedule. I hope they can steal a few wins.

I was reading on a board that the two key factors in getting an at large bid (if needed) is to finish in the top 3 of the conference with an RPI of 50 or below - this is based on 2006-2011. Only 7 teams with an RPI less than 50 got bids and only 1 outside the top 3 in the conference, which was us in 2010 with a 4th place finish. We also ended up on the outside last year meeting both - 49 RPI and winning the regular season.
With all that, I think we are in position to keep a strong RPI. Also, there are some great opportunities for quality wins midweek still. In the SoCon, the toughest part is behind us - just need to perform the way we should going forward. It helps that the SoCon is more highly rated this year vs. last - currently sitting at 7th rated RPI conference.

They also consiter streaking and last year we hit a wall at the end of the season. Thats what killed us.

I'm extremely pleased with how the bats have been performing since March 23rd.
With pitching this good, I bet we can steal a couple mid week games to strengthen that RPI. Last go round v UNC, the team lost 3-0, BUT, only managed 4 runners on base the entire game. That has to change and looks like things are picking up steam.
Go Phoenix!

Because it's never to early and I think it is fun to follow... Actually have an early projection for regionals with Elon getting a 2 seed in the Chapel Hill regional. Interestingly, NCSU is also projected to host in our area as well. perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=6827
