No worries, complete spit in the face by the committee though

In the meantime a 10-9-1 Michigan team and a 11-9-1 Michigan State are hosting. Elon at RPI of 22 will go on the road while 23-30 host and #37 and #41 host. I really hate that these committees are made up of the very people involved in the tournament.
The only positive is Elon has yet to lose on the road this season. Hopefully they'll take care of business.
Go Phoenix!

This all falls on Blank and the school. We should be ashamed that we did not bid enough of a financial guarantee to get us a home game. Total travesty to the kids and the team. Blank, pathetic.

Well, the team had a great regular season and ended up spanked by Coastal last night.
The school should be ashamed. But then again, the NCAA tournament should be able seeding and rewarding the best teams not the teams that will yield the most money.

I wouldnt say ashamed from last nights preformance. We had two goals that went off the goal post. there shots were shot from a good distance out and were hard saves. The tempo was not dominated last night by either team, it was back and forth. They just got lucky with there shots. As for the seeding issue im 100% with you

Ashamed? Wow.
They beat 4 ranked teams, finished the season ranked in the top 20, successfully defended the title......yeah, lots to be ashamed.

I think he meant ashamed that the school didn't pony up the necessary money to host a game. I don't know the details of this or if it's even true, but just clarifying based on his earlier comment.
The team has nothing to be ashamed of, although I would argue that last night's game was evenly played. CCU had many more opportunities on the night which is evident by the shots in the box score.
Those two Elon shots off the woodwork may have taken the wind out of the sails a bit.
Oh well, a lot to be proud of this year, was just hoping for a better showing last night.
Go Phoenix!

sorry I misread what you typed. I agree 100% with you. Coastal is a great team and should of hosted but so should we. There is no reason we should of been paired together. Not sure if it was a Blank issue or a homer issue with the committie, either way it should not happen.

The team had a great year and lots to be proud of. As far as the hosting or going on the road thing, it seems to me that the tournament is kept regional - probably for financial issues as soccer isnt really a revenue generating sport. So therefore you have teams in the midwest that get to host just based on being the best in that region and keeping them closer to home. I dont think it is all about the bidding, though that certainly plays into it.
