Jay Hopson, 6'1", 185 lbs, From Pahokee, Fl, Pahokee, Fl is famous for chasing rabbits to make there football players faster. If you dont know the story (short version) Pahokee HS has an annual burning of the sugar cane Feilds and the rabbits run like crazy. Football practice consists of catching rabbits in the mud for as long as the rabbits last. Pahokee players are generally fast with great agility. Hopson is no exception, lighting in a bottle. He is raw, but would play from day one.Listed as a Safety. Will shore up our defense that needs alot of help.

At the recent Shrine Bowl combine held at Eastern Alamance, J-Wil ripped off back-to-back runs of 4.44 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
Other Measurables From The Combine:
Height: 5' 10" Weight: 160lbs Pro Shuttle: 4.34 seconds Vertical Jump: 38" Bench Press: 13 reps (185lbs)
One Scout.com recruiting analyst has noted that J-Wil is currently being recruited by Campbell, Davidson and Furman. But "Look for more schools to start recruiting him in the near future."

One nice thing is our guys have it so good! maybe too good. I wouldnt mind getting the 2nd or 3rd best player off of Pahokee High. I have counted 6 D1 prospects on their team. Also I dont underestimate the power of getting a friend of a prospect that is rated a little higher. Its always good to have a friendly face on your team when it comes signing day. The thing is Elon has to go in and let it be known right off the bat its a package deal and that both players are more than welcome.

I am guessing that to much good information can come under scrutiny. Sources are recruiting services, i use 5, and other media, such as videos and newspapers. Remember this is an interest list and not an offer list. These kids are not listed as having offers but wanting to know more about the school. The individual profiles are from my days of traveling football and networking to get info and videos. No contact with prospects. That could be viewed as violations in this day and age.

I personally appreciate all the information you have been posting. I find it somewhat harder to find the information on recruiting at Elon's level (I-AA) as compared to the big schools.
As to posts I have seen that it shouldn't be out here in the open - that is just silly. If you go to message boards of powerhouse football programs they have entire threads dedicated to specific recruits or at the very least a lengthy discussion about who they are after, etc. It doesn't hurt to put the names out there.

Jaylan Bridges: 5'9",220 lbs, 4.9 40 time. 315 bench, 545 Squat. Powerful. Very hard to block. Tenacious on defense. Likes to give the big hit. Hits a little high, but is a sure tackler. Possible better fit at OLB to not have to deal with larger inside lineman. Has a good burst so dont let 40 time be a focus. Brings down 40 time to 4.7 and will play special teams in first year. Plays in Huntersville, NC.

Joshon Perry: 6'2", 264 lbs, 5.0 40 time. DT. Has good first step, eats up space on the inside. Has instincts. Very disruptive and can blow up plays. He is worth a look.

might want to take comments to Elon only area due to "others" that might not need to know our wants and needs and sabotage' your hard work! I do understand the apprehension of being out in the open but it is a necessary risk. If we dont keep this public, prospects cant find it. If we lock it away, the eyes that need to see, wont. As for "others", remember this, they cant be everywhere and have to make decisions on who they want to go after. It actually weakens their prowess, what was going to be a visit now becomes a phone call. Plus if the right people take a look, we get these prospects in camp. Then this gets really exciting. As for the "Elon Only Area", I havent seen that yet...
