Four runs from the 3yd line?! That was a job saving series and the staff failed. How can you make those play calls???!!! Also, then in the post-game comments he says the team needs to learn how to win?!!!! How about the staff learning how to win? They have a losing record as a staff since they got here. That was as bad a set of calls as I have ever seen. Then you answer a question on the calls and say Wofford wanted it more?! Really? How about manning up and saying - Hey, we should have called some things differently down there. That's on us. Time to go.

Disappointed and frustrated definitely. But shocked that we were again outcoached at halftime, not at all.

It's interesting he would say they need to learn how to win when they won last week in spite of the coaching staff falling flat on its face in the 2nd half. He coaches not to lose in every game. It's unfortunate the talent we saw in the first half gets saddled by a coaching staff who makes zero in game adjustments.
Go Phoenix!

d**n, I want to give these guys every benefit of the doubt but you have to win these games. Swepson's teams are showing that they stake out a lead but cannot hold it. We had to win this game. No one wants or likes to lose. Very telling that there is a pattern... all the way back to ASU in 2011 teams can and come back to beat us... gotta win the close ones.

Not sure why you say watch our offensive line. 1-3 rd down plays were the same play and designed to go right of center. There was a hole each of the first three plays.

Very simple issue here. This team has what it takes to win SOCON games, period. The fact that we can score 20+ points in the first half against Coastal, FU, and Woff shows that our players have what it takes to play some fairly dominating football at times. The problem is that we literally make ZERO adjustments at halftime. We have our plays, and that's what we run, regardless of what the other team is doing or what we think they may do in the 2nd half. Until our OC and DC learn to adjust and stay one step ahead, we will always be in close games no matter what the score is in the first half.
Positive notes though: It's obvious the talent is there to win. Talked to some of the guys, and they all say the new strength guy is the man. Guys are much bigger and stronger and it shows I think especially against teams like FU and Woff that ran the ball all over us last year. Guys on the team clearly haven't thrown in the towel, and they shouldn't for the rest of the season. I'll be at the game this weekend, and I hope theres a good crowd. Will be interested to see what the second half brings this saturday. Our players have learned how to bounce back and stay at it, hopefully we see some different wrinkles schematically from the coordinators after they get to see Chatt for an entire first half.

iowaelonfan - have to agree. our line was not the issue on that last series. would have really loved to see a couple of pass plays mixed in there on that last series. a fake dive to bj left with a bootleg rollout back to the wide side of the field. would have also been nice to see a quick pitch wide to kierre on one of the plays. i have no problem with trying to run that dive play a couple of times just not all four times. too clogged up and easy for the d to defend.

I guess I'm blind...our left side was completely whipped on those plays at the goal line. Watch it again.
Again, that was the worst set of play calls I could have ever imagined. A spread team...after driving the ball and having clutch plays to get us there - gets put in a horrible position by play calling.
I have a theory on why. Swep wanted to prove we could win on the ground. He had his post game comments already teed up. "we won because we are tougher now" our work in the weight room shows"....
Well in the end we got whipped and had horrible play calls.
I agree wholeheartedly...our coordinators are not great game-day coaches.

fc4life - plays 1-3 on that last series looked like were all designed to go right. left guard pulling right on each play. looks like there was a hole right a couple times. bj cut back left. left tackle was late on block 2nd play. 4th down just too clogged. they had half their team lined up right where we ran the ball.

Mike Ayers is a well respected coach over 26 years as the WC Head coach. His post and pre game speeches must be legendary... no doubt

You know, I could forgive this guy for making the mistake of running the same play 3 straIght times, thinking Wofford might be fooled that we wouldn't do it 3 straight times, or something like that. What I can't forgive is that arrogant j*****s' comments in a PUBLIC FORUM. I would agree that we just didn't execute against Wofford in this situation if we were ALABAMA! I am so puke sick of this guy screwing up and blaming the team any anyone other than himself. This guy is the pure definition of LOW CLASS.

You've got to love Quinn's "no comment". Swepson could learn a lot from Quinn.
