Big game this weekend. This team looks determined to improve as the season progresses, coming within 1 yard and a half of pulling off the upset at Wofford. This weekend features one of the SoCon's best passing offenses, against the SoCon's best pass defense. It's also puts one of the SoCon's best total offenses against the worst team in total defense..... I'll let you guys and gals figure out who is who Seriously though, we have seen some flashes of a good Elon team this season, and flashes of what to consensus here seems to think, bad coaching. The team rolled in to Furman, built a big lead and held on. They went to Wofford, built a big lead and lost in literally the last second in the game. Tie that with a brilliant 1st half offensively against CCU, only to see the coach make no adjustments at the half.....knowing that CCU was going to come out balls to the wall. If the team can put together a full game, we'll see some fireworks. This weekend will be an extremely tough game. 'Noga has 2 backs who are in the top 10 in SoCon rushing, one of which is a duel threat QB. I'm interested to see what the game plan on Saturday will be. One good thing to note is that our kicker looks to be improving on FG accuracy, which is obviously muy importante. Going 2/2 against the #12 team in the nation should give a much needed boost of confidence.

Huge game this weekend. Would have been nice to go into it with a "W" last week (sigh), but no changing history.
Go Phoenix!

UTC has the best overall offense we will see this year (other than GT). They can run the ball, but unlike Wofford, they are proficient at passing and have a true dual threat at QB.

There was one pass play in the 4th quarter that Wofford looked pretty darn good on. Man, you talk about someone being open.

That was purely a missed assignment. They had been running a play all day for 5 to 9 yards where the QB did a quick pass out to the WR & the slot blocked the defender. They did the same thing & our corner took the bait of a "missed block" & went to the WR. The slot was wide open down the line after that. The pass was a wobbling lame duck, but when you're that wide open, anything's catchable. Cudo's to the coach on that one, and to the execution by the Slot back.
UTC will be much more proficient than that.

Chatty is pretty close to being 5-1. The refs botched a call down in Statesboro that gave GSU the 23-21 win. They're tough, have scored less than 31 points only twice this season.

From what I've seen Samford and UTC are the best teams in the SoCon this year regardless of eligibility.
