With CoC scoring something like 30 points in the last 6 minutes versus the 'niners, you bet your butt they'll be coming to play tonight.

They're a very athletic team. We'll have to play our best D. Not an easy task with the new rule changes. If we keep up the same shooting %ages we've had so far, we should be up to the task.
ELON>PHOENIX ELON>PHOENIX ELON>PHOENIX

Was at the game and Elon looked really solid until the last five minutes and the 49ers just physically took over the game; Elon failed to convert a few shots right around the basket that would have stemmed the tide. Niners went on something like a 15-0 run to put the game out of reach. Fouls were a bit one-sided in favor of Charlotte, but I didn't think it was something that affected the game or the outcome. Niners hit the FTs at the end of the game, something that they did not do in the lose to CoC.
All in all a fun and entertaining game; as a Niner season ticket holder and an Elon alum, this was a tough game to watch cause no way both could win.

I thought Elon had a bit of an off night shooting, not to take anything away from UNCC. They were very athletic and played a very tight defense, much more so than I expected. This was just much more of a solid team than we've faced this year by far. It will help us as we move forward to pick up our game.

I was there as well. Played well most of the game, but just didn't have enough in the tank to hang in there late. They had an opportunity to bury them very early and as fc mentioned they just weren't hitting shots.
Lester and Thorne were tough match ups and single-handedly pulled them away late. Still a lot to be optimistic about.
On to NJ...Drexel game will be big and a preview of CAA play.
Go Phoenix!

In the 1st half when it was 18-6 Elon should have been able to pull away even more, but the Niners went on a run when Elon started missing shots. It was that sort of game until the last 5 minutes, a game of runs. Elon missed a lot of shots around the basket; had they gone in, who knows. Still, the Niners are a decent team this year and a good physical test for Elon. I'm so excited about this Elon team this year, but as a season ticket holder for Charlotte basketball this was a tough one to watch... Drexel will be a good test too. Now I can relax an not worry about the Niners or Phoenix meeting again...football next season will be tough too.
