My guess would be Beaumont and Koch could see some time against him. He will honestly be a tough cover for anyone on our team because of his threat both inside and outside. We will need to cover the 3 ball well as that is dook's game. Also we will need to shoot it well to keep up - although they are not a team that has much of an inside presence. With the newer emphasis on the hand checking and such finding a way to get to the basket and get fouled would be a good thing as dook is known for their hand checking, etc.

I went to the game, took my wife for her first game. I was embarrassed by how they played. They do NOT play as a team and I am afraid they believe their own hype from before the season.

I don't think they believe their own hype as much as they just aren't that good. Not trying to be down on the team, but it's very apparent that this team is light years from being a threat to any big time program. They could still very well win the SoCon, but they are 16 seed level at best if they get in. I will give props to the Elon fan base. Glad to see a lot of maroon there and folks cheering to the end. I don't think many were expecting a tight game, but it's disappointing it wasn't even competitive. Go Phoenix!

The SoCon is pretty weak and they should still compete in conference, but they are no David ready to knock off Goliath by any means. And yes, if they do make the Tourny some how they will be a 16 seed if not a play in game and it would be a tough matchup against a 1 seed.

Our performance was embarrassing. I have said a few times on the board that this team has regressed.
We are in big trouble. I hope I'm wrong.

The problem is, they don't play as a team, and Beaumont is the only leader on the floor. Troutman is just not a threat. Beaumont missed layups. Don't get me started on Koch.
Last year must have been a fluke.
We are in big trouble. The CAA is not the SoCon.

Agreed on the CAA. We are going to get drilled.
This is our year to make noise and it's falling apart. Look at our roster for next year.....
Our overall athleticism is horrible and we are a perimeter team. It's a bad recipe.

Yep. It hurts to say this, but last year's team was significantly better. They seem disjointed. That trust they had last year isn't there. Beaumont May be the only leader on the court, but he's not what he was last year. Koch has shown flashes of improvement, but not nearly as much or as consistent as the team needs. Troutman seems almost tired on the court for stretches during the game. Jack used to be the floor leader, but wasn't quite as good last year as his sophomore year, and has regressed more this year. And as for winning the SoCon, did you see what Davidson did against UNC and Witchata State? They are clearly starting to gel. I hope I'm wrong but right now I see us finishing behind Davidson, Western and possibly Wofford.

Was at the game yesterday and there we could not deal with Duke's pressure defense.....they were way more athletic and I can not tell you how hard it was to just get the ball up the court. As far as regression, I think Lucas and Jack don't seem to be the same player they were in past years. I have noticed it with Lucas more this year but why is Jack playing the 1 against Duke....silver lining I thought our freshmen looked OK in the few minutes they had....but that is picking at straws....the team just seemed disjointed and was not the same team that played at Cameron last year (although I will add that Duke is much more athletic and quick than last years Duke team). As far as the upcoming SOCON, I agree with everyone else about Davidson...they are jelling and played both UNC and WS tough. UNCG is coming together with a win over VT and tough loss against State. We can and will have to get our mojo back if we are going to meet our objectives which is to win SOCON and get in the NCAA. They have time. But something is lacking with the Seniors....hope they get it back.
