I'm still looking for that full 40 minutes of aggressive play. We continue our bad habit of slowing down in the 2nd half & letting our opponent back in instead of gutting them. No killer instinct. However, it was a win in a place where we've had very few. Also, the winning margin wasn't completely reflective of how we pretty much controlled the entire game. Here's the TN article:
BOONE — Lucas Troutman delivered 21 points and Sebastian Koch scored 17 points as Elon defeated Appalachian State 83-76 in Southern Conference men’s basketball Saturday.
Ryley Beaumont and Jack Isenbarger added 14 points apiece for the visiting Phoenix (12-11 overall, 5-3 league), which won at Appalachian State’s Holmes Center for the first time in seven seasons.
Elon led for nearly the entire game, building a 15-point edge in the first half and 17-point lead in the second half, after the Mountaineers (6-15, 2-6) pulled within six.
Elon, which swept the regular-season series against Appalachian State, connected on 11 buckets from 3-point range. Isenbarger drained four 3s while Koch and Tanner Samson hit three apiece.
The Phoenix shot 55.8 percent from the field. Troutman and Beaumont went a combined 14-for-22.
Chris Burgess led Appalachian State with 19 points. Mike Neal scored 17 and Tab Hamilton had 15.

Nice to see them get the season sweep against App. The next six games Elon will be favored. UNCG, GSU, @furman, Samford, @gsu, @uncg. If the team can maintain some intensity, 6-0 is a real possibility. Anything less than 5-1 would be a disappointment. These are the games you have to take care of business in. Hope the guys keep their foot on the pedal.
Go Phoenix!
