Wofford will put up yards against us too. The trick is not letting them put up a lot of points. Wofford will try to make this a 2.5 hour game and completely control the time of possession. This is why DT needs to start. We will absolutely need quick strike ability. He's not the runner Jalen is but we have running backs for that. As long as he can make contact with his receivers, it will open up the run game. If we had our normal line-up I feel we would be the overwhelming favorite for the win. However, being down a QB, linemen being dinged up, DB's in various states of wellness, we'll need to muster everything we can to take this one. One thing to consider, WOCO has had 17 turnovers this year, 14 fumbles with 7 lost and 10 interceptions. So there is at least a bit of opportunity there. We NOW need to open up the playbook and will have to play with our hair on fire. Greene, if he plays has to protect the ball! he was benched more for fumbling than poor passing. We should still be able to run the ball with our O-line.

We should still be able to run the ball with our O-line. If Greene was benched for the fumble and NOT his passing, he was benched for the wrong reason. His stats the last four games: 7-11 for a whopping 205 yards vs. Richmond (205 yards on 7 completions???); 3-8 for 35 yards vs. RI; 5-19 for 30 yards vs. Towson; and then 3-7 for 29 yards vs. Maine. Dreadful. And if there were a ton of drops (as we've seen in past years) or near misses, that would be one thing. But he hasn't been close. It seems like he's just out there throwing the ball, almost without looking. No, DT gets the start. It's the only shot this offense has. DT has significant liabilities (a propensity for sacks, fumbles and interceptions), but he also give you a real passing threat. That threat alone will boost the running game. And that's the recipe for success. I thought last week Cignetti relied way too much on DT's arm. Once Maine saw we could throw, we should have included more runs. We would have been unstoppable. But that's last week...

It appears they only have 6 sacks on the season (or is my dyslexia getting the best of me?). Do they have trouble getting after QBs?

It appears they only have 6 sacks on the season (or is my dyslexia getting the best of me?). Do they have trouble getting after QBs? They don't play in a very pass-heavy conference, so they mostly see running. Which makes their stats on run defense that much more incredible. IMO, if we have any chance this week it will be through the WRs stepping up and making plays and Jaylen Thomas making the most of the few runs he is given.
