Reported that he is going to Charlotte. Sure hope JMU doesn't go after Cignetti.

So they are talking about Cignetti on the JMU board. I don't see him as a mover but it may be a moment to see how serious President Book is about athletics. At least I hope Cignetti is using it as leverage to get something for the program. Lots of dominoes falling around college football coaching, makes me nervous.

If Cignetti leaves to take the JMU job, Blank should be fired. Simple as that.

hard to miss a guy that comes to their place and hangs a big W, JMU is a place of movement. good talent is rewarded. Houston could have taken the Ga tech job. I see Jay Bateman is a Frank Broyles Award finalist. So he is out of our price range. We could lose some assistants as they have proved their worth as being very capable.

Don’t see it happening. Maybe FBS but not FCS.

Actually they are looking at G5 Head Coaches and P5 assistants for the GT job. Our coaches will get offers because they have done a great job in 2 years. But in the end, we have unfinished business in the CAA Conference and FCS Playoffs. We return a lot of talent next year with a strong recruiting class. We will make some waves next year.

Money talks... enough said.
I get we all want to be like why would you leave, you have talent and have done well etc. etc. etc..... but Money talks and we all know Elon is not the highest paying schools especially in the assistant coach pool. If you can get a FBS assistant job... you take it.

JMU to ECU...btw ECU paid $1.1 million.... ECU trainwreck just hires their AD and Houston is the front-runner. He will go after D-1 transfers to turn things around I believe w/ Mac Brown in UNC instate top prospects will be harder to get.

So it seems it became official the Houston was leaving for ECU around 4 pm today. Since then their chat room has had more than 70 posts (4 pages) and the fans consensus choice is Cignetti. Why does Elon spend so much time in ashes part of being a Phoenix? I've got a bad feeling about this. csnbbs.com/thread-865290-page-4.html

We need to lock Cignetti up. If not, Blank should be looking for a job.
With signing day approaching, we need to get an extension done and a press release out.

If he moves it will be up to FBS not laterally. I would like to flip some of their commits though.

App State's Satterfield headed to Louisville. Not sure who's on their radar.
Go Phoenix!

I remember some higher athletic admin telling me how App St was making such a huge mistake moving up and it would hurt their program and fanbase... sorry but I do not think it has hurt them one bit. Outside of not playing for National Titles at the FCS level they seem to be doing just fine.
I don't think Cignetti would jump to JMU... especially knowing that with a new coach Elon could be a top 1/2 team if JMU were to fall a little bit. Maine was a semi fluke not playing some of the best teams in the conf. Not sure where Cignetti falls in any of these coaching moves. Not sure if he wants to stay in the Carolina's? I mean he has been all over in terms of geography. App St would be a good job but again not sure it is what he wants. Charlotte could have been an option as well as ECU. Sounds weird but do you think Liberty could be an option. They are moving up, have a lot of money and crazy nice facilities.

I have a bad feeling about this. He turned down Bowling Green because of the location.
App and JMU have the location. Heck, he could work at App and wouldn't have to move.
I just don't feel really good about this.
