Hello Elon basketball fans- I am wishing for any assurance or enthusiasm about our basketball team prior to our CAA games from any Elon supporters. The only thing I can attempt to be positive about is an overall decline in our opponents. Only College of Charleston has had a strong non conference showing with strong performances against quality opponents LSU, Okla State, Rhode Island, and Memphis. Northeastern hasn't appeared to be playing well without top performer, Pusica #4, hasn't been playing due to injury; although they did defeat Alabama when he did play. In my attempt to be positive I don't see any team except two CAA teams on the schedule to be a definite lose. I fear W&M #13 Knight post player but I watched them on ESPN pius not as strong as past teams on the perimeter. Is it possible we actually have a winning conference record? Then reality overcomes me and honestly I am surprised we beat any D-I school. Trying to be positive- Tommy Boy

Ok, here's my optimistic Elon Basketball statement: Elon plays with lots of energy and enthusiasm for 30 minutes of every game.

My optimism is that even the buffoons who have kept Matheny to date will have no choice but to fire him after this season. Then, finally, the next chapter can begin and this chapter of ineptitude can be put to rest

I think we will be well positioned for the draft. Trust the process.

I’m not so sure there isn’t any such thing as a moral victory. Versus UNCG, Elon has their most complete game against a decent, albeit slightly under manned, D1 team. Hopefully this wine something upon which the team can build. ** We have much more trouble than we should with a full court press.
