Massey has Elon winning this game 31-27.
What team shows up this weekend? What should we expect?
Rhody essentially has 4, 1 score losses....

To your point:
What team shows up this weekend? The second half team against Delaware Is the same team that played against Richmond. I am hoping this is the team that shows up to play at Rhode Island Saturday.

Every game is do or die from now own. If we have playoff aspirations, we must go 4-0.
I’m hoping the energy from the Delaware game carries over after the bye week. Rhody is a good team regardless of their record. Our DBs are going to be tested. We must get some pass rush and hold the run or it could be a long day.
Let’s do this Elon!

The D-backs definitely will be tested. Rhody has a really strong passing offense averaging 330+ /game.

URI stats look better than their record. They've played a reasonably tough schedule as well.

Let’s get ready for a big 2nd half. Offensive play calling has to be better and need to see Davis step his game up.
Bad clock management almost cost us at the end of the half. You always burn that timeout because we gave URI a free Hail Mary at the end of the half with no time left. Take our TO with 30 seconds left on their 40, their decision is different.
Let’s go boys! Pick it up

Grep Liggs Jr. now has the program record for INTs in a season with 6. Through 3 games.

Locking down their pass attack with these INTs is making it easy to know when they are going to run the ball. The defense is playing exceptional today.
Offense has indeed been pretty bad. Cheek's been meh, he's had some good throws and some missed ones. Jaylan Thomas has had 2 good runs, and Cyphers has had 2 or 3. Other than that we haven't been able to run the ball either.

My apologies, here's the real stat: Liggs now has the record for CAREER INTs with 13, and has the record for the most INTs "in a campaign". I took that to mean in a season, but I suppose it's not. It could be a "continuous set of games", meaning the last 3 for him.

Another huge second half....I’ll take that!!
Liggs...dude is playing lights out!
And how about Baughman with the wheels on a 67 yard TD run? Get the ball in that guy’s hands any way possible!

I just watched to Flo replay and I will let someone else start the report card but We just beat another State team. The defense stifled the #5 Offense in FCS and won by turnovers and execution. We had some trunk plays that were downed on the 1 or 2 yd line. Also jumped on the scoreboard first w/ Avery Jones catch and run. Baughman's 2 TD's from Wildcat and including his 67 yd keeper one has to to say our line blocked very well. Only negative was poor 3rd down conversion rate. Greg Liggs, and the DB's were stellar. DERB & Even Jalen Greene had a long pass breakup. #31 Chandler has found an extra gear. #37 Sponseller is playing much better and the DL put pressure on QB all day long. We played a team and beat them and only a HB reverse INT on a play after a turnover was our only negative. Cheek was well protected. I hope the Boy's feasted on Chowder post-game. On to W&M

Cheek and. Baughman complement each other. Davis Cheek is a great QB. With the game on the line there is no one I would rather have as QB in this conference! He is a competitor and the team leader. Joey Baughman gives the defense a different look and headaches. The added pressure he puts on the defense with his ability to run the ball is immense. That duel threat he presents throughout a game changes the pace and gives us the surprise element.. the defense never knows when he will appear and the surprise factor has caught the defense with a unit on the field they wish to change. Hope Joey can stay healthy.
The first half conservative play calling does not bother me. First of the year throwing the ball all over the place and not trying to establish a run game killed us. We put ourselves in third and long too many times and never established the run. Good teams must run the ball. Even with little success in the first half of our last two games trying to run the ball is paying dividends., The OL looks like they are gaining confidence playing with each other, love seeing those guys improve. As the game progresses they are staying on their blocks and at times going after a secondary block down field. The OL is not the only group blocking!! Our wide receivers and tight ends can be seen making crucial blocks downfield sealing corners which every coaches dream.
The defense which for the last couple years has been our strong suit, appears to be back in business. The improvement of our defensive line and defensive backs from the beginning of the season has been stellar. We did not tackle well the first of the year. I think we must have had numerous bull in the ring sessions or something. These guys are tacking better and appear to have a little nasty in them. Also once a hit is made we are getting more defenders in on the party which is something we did well last year. Glad to see that part of the game back. Next week we need a big crowd at Homecoming for a much improved W&M team. Hope to see everyone in attendance!
