Kennesaw hasn’t won a game all season, hopefully it’s a spark, but I’m not getting too excited just yet...

I will say the new guys look good. I’m thinking 2021-2022 will be the breakout season...

I will say the new guys look good. I’m thinking 2021-2022 will be the breakout season... Yeah, I was maybe overly optimistic about how we would look this season with such a young team. I do think we'll be better in the back half of the season with some experience under our belts, but you're probably right that it will be a year or two before we see the improved recruiting really start to pay dividends.

I'm still drinking my own Koolaid. The first half we were cold as ice & Kennesaw couldn't miss. The first 10-12 minutes of the second half we couldn't miss. Even in the first half, once again we were getting plenty of open looks & the ball just wasn't falling. As the season goes on I think we'll have more & more games where we're hot in shooting. So, I'm still optimistic we won't come in 10th, & there's a chance, (however remote), we could make it to the middle of the conference standings.
Regardless, this brand of basketball is infinitely more exciting than we've had in 15 years, with the exception of the Fab 4's first 3 years.

I didn't see the game; but I wish I would have to believe it. Elon was down 13 points in the first half. We outscored them 44 to 15 in the second half. A 44 point swing in the game in our favor. We were still outrebounded and shot 12 of 20 from free throw line for 60%. Our point guard had 4 turnovers and 0 assists but we win. Our defense created 17 turnovers and we shot the ball lights out from 3 points in the second half 9 of 12 from behind the arch. I am not sure this is a recipe for a championship but it was for a victory over an 0-6 team.

It was a strange game. They killed Elon on the offensive boards, even in the 2nd half. They seem to have the same problem Elon does offensively…not enough weapons and not much depth. If you key in on one or two guys you can limit their scoring.
There was a 5-10 minute span last night where KSU unraveled and Elon couldn’t miss, which changed the whole game. I’m just glad they got a win against a D1 team and hopefully this will give them some confidence going into the HPU and Campbell games.
Bigmike summed it up well with the comment about the new guys looking good. It at least gives us hope this thing is headed in the right direction even if it’s not this year.
One random observation…I didn’t see a single KSU fan at the game. I’ve never been to an Elon game where there was not one fan for the opposing team in the gym. No KSU gear or fans behind their bench.
Go Phoenix!

...hopefully this will give them some confidence going into the HPU and Campbell games... High Point is similar. They're 1-7 with the one win against a DIII team.
