Dang... Western HR to lead off the bottom of the 10th sweeps Elon. It's tough to say it was a great series when you lose all three games, but every one of these games were so close that we could have left Cullowhee with a sweep. I wouldn't get too down on the team, the results never tell the whole story. Lets hope we can pull one out in Clemson Tuesday.

And we're swept by Western. When's the last time a team truly swept us?
And I don't care that Western was picked ahead of us. Saying that kind of stuff is loser talk. "Well its okay, we weren't supposed to be better than them anyway." We are Elon, we are better than we've been playing period. End of story.
And to start being accepting of this is to continue the problem of never being better than we are.
Hey it could always be worse.... right? So let's all be happy it isn't right? Ugh.
We're almost tied with Appalachian. So if you want to sit there and tell me this is ok after they can work their way out of the cellar to be as good as us in 2 years, then.... well, I guess our fans get what they deserve.
And I will still stand by my statement that Elon is a mom and pop run debacle in which there is no accountability for performance.

Adam you clearly did not see one pitch of this series. I didn't get to catch today's game but in the early part of this series we outplayed them. We hit balls hard but in the wrong place. They hit a few balls that found the perfect place. There was a point yesterday where we hit six balls in a row on the nose and they all went for outs. Whether it reflects in the standings or not, losing three games by one or two is much better than losing three games by a wide margin.
I have no problem with your comments about the men's basketball team or any of our other programs that really did suck this year. But when it comes to baseball, you can't make the assumption of "Oh, we lost. That must mean we suck." You have to have an informed reason to say this other than box scores. As I just said in my last post, we could have won all three of these games.
I appreciate everything you have done for Elon athletics, but you don't need to take every possible opportunity to go off on a rant about how bad everyone sucks. I expect a post from you every time we lose a baseball game, but I don't expect one from you when we win the conference tournament in tennis. That's not right...

Can someone remind me if this is elonfans.com or elonphans.com? We get it Adam. I think your point was made the previous 300 times.
Anyhow, tough to get swept in three close games like that. The postive was solid pitching all weekend, but it seems when pitching shows up batting goes away. Oh well, a lot of home games left, but definitely not in a great spot now.
Go Phoenix!

I was thinking about it on the way our to eat. The pitching did their job for the most part. They gave up few runs. So Kudos to them.

I listened to sats game and here is what we did right. robed a home run, pitched a great game went 8 innings on our pitcher. We struggled hitting but when we did hit we did a good job stealing. The loss i put on the coach. It was a bad decision to walk the last batter. it put too much presure on the pitcher that is why he hit the batter. Its not that we played bad it came down to decision A or B we went with B and lossed. whose to say A could of led to a win or we could of lossed there too. All im saying is i take the one with the least amount of pressure on the pitcher, theres 2 outs so anything in the air or the infield sends us extra innings

For the most part I agree with that assessment, but it appeared to me that the conference on the mound left the decision to Lewter. Strausbaugh had been hitting the ball hard all day, and since I didn't question the decision at the time, I can't really second-guess it now. It's unfortunate that it didn't work out, but it's just little things like that that are the difference between a win and a loss.
And Chris Dove's catch was truly UNBELIEVABLE!
