This was as putrid a performance as I’ve ever seen from an Elon team. Could not block...could not tackle and showed zero ability to punch a team and keep them down. Very, very disappointing. We’re going to have a long year. I hope I’m wrong but this reminds me of the Swepson/Skrosky years. I was unfortunately thinking the same. This will likely be a 1 win year.

All, I've been as negative as any. Elon is a very liberal school with zero focus on athletics, even less than they've been in the past. This is covid. Elon has been even weirder than most schools for allowing things. This season is a throwaway anyway. Yeah sure, these other teams have been through it to, but those schools aren't Elon. Just look at the school's social media and press releases, do you really think anyone cares about athletics?
There's batches of us alumni that do, but they have zero alumni involvement outside of political get togethers anymore.

I guess I'm saying is, what do you expect? Look at basketball and football, ever sport is in an utter meltdown.
WE lost by 3 to Davidson. Non-scholarship, Pioneer League Davidson. That right there tells the state of things. It's not the coaches at this point, it's the school.

We got to get better! Plan and simply! Team needs more "Swagger" both in the games and on the sidelines. Fans need to get more involved and pump these kids up! Have to make to best of what we have right now. At least there playing football!!
IMO Elon University doesn't seem to give much love (support) to their Football program. Stopped into the Elon book store to buy a Football hat last week and they don't sell any. You can buy every other sport, including cheerleading, but no Football? The girl at the counter said "oh is there a football game today"?

This is going to be rough with a true freshman at QB now. He has some skills but it is going to depend how fast he can develop and adapt to the speed of the college game. We got gashed by them running the ball and I don’t know if it was a lack of execution on D or a scheme issue. GW had the better skill players on the field yesterday and they just plain wanted it more. Elon didn’t respond and didn’t look like we had much fight as a team. Our leaders were trying to get the team hyped but it wasn’t working. Next week could be ugly.

I hate to say it, but an extremely disappointing outing yesterday. Felt good about being up 17-0 in the first and 20-7 at halftime. I think the players felt too good about it too.
Really no excuse to be outscored 42 to 3 after a 17-0 first quarter. No matter who you have on the field.
With that said, no better opportunity for a revival than having the #2 team in the country coming to the house next week. Defense has to nut up and make stops. Offense needs to be efficient and play calling needs to get us to 3rd and short at least. Offensive line needs to accept the challenge on Saturday and control the line of scrimmage and have a little grit and determination about em.
Let’s go get it EU!
