Well, I hate to agree with the quote, but unless you are recruiting in MASN territory, it doesn't matter whether or not you're on TV. If they are in MASN territory, then its big.

By the way, BOTH online audio AND video are out. The computer that puts the stream over the web crapped out an hour before air and the videostream disappeared at half.
Word from the inside is, there are a lot of technical issues tonight. I blame MASN. Why? Because I can....I really have no good reason and I'm just fooling around.

The Phoenix played an outstanding game. At 51-57 with time evaporating and the Phoenix forcing bad Wildcat shots on every possession, I thought it was over. Fortunately for Davidson, Curry got hot right at the very end and Thomas Sander and Jason Richards really stepped up. Ernie Nestor's gameplan and coaching were beautiful. I'm glad we don't have to play at The Next again this season. Good luck the rest of the way.

Was a heartbreaking loss, but lots of positives, too. Team played hard...so many what if's. What if we had gotten the crucial rebound which would have prevented Curry from taking the lead for good. We were certainly in this game and probably should have won...but Davidson is like UNC...they find a way to win, even when it's not one of their better nights overall. The student turnout was awesome....the game was exciting and worth the late night.

The video was back w/ about 12 minutes to play...It seems that the SoCon didn't adjust the end time after the game got moved to 9 pm

MASN cut out with 2:30 to play and didn't resume until the :59 mark, just after Cury made the second 3 and the 2. I was PISSED!! Overall great effort and gameplan from the Phoenix last night. They played a LOT better than when I saw them at UVA. The student turnout looked great on TV..though they could get a little louder (for TV). Overall impressive. This team has the drive, especially Tel. He is making up for his injury from last year and you can see the desire in his eyes. This team is going to get HOT and I thought the spark was going to ignite last night a la 2005-06. I'm more optimistic about the remainder of the season after seeing the team's play last night.

A win last night sure would've helped student involvement for the rest of the season.
We're still going to be a major player in the North division. Hope the boys keep playing hard!

heck of a game, im not gonna be able to talk for a while. ive still got a headache from thinking about all those second chance points Davidson had. on another note, i really enjoyed the turnout, it was nice to see the stands full. even some of the sorority girls were pretty into it. of course we wont see this type of turnout the rest of the year, which is unfortunate. maybe even without the win, the average student fan can understand how well we played last night (besides the rebounding and such) and come out to watch the team consistently.

from Charlotte Observer
• The Southern Conference must be starving for television attention to allow Wednesday's late start. Davidson and Elon fans couldn't see the game on basic cable, since most are served by Time Warner Cable. Time Warner Cable does not carry the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, which showed the game.
Davidson was not expected back on campus until at least 2 a.m. to accommodate a game that would not be seen by the majority of fans who wants to see it. At least the players can sleep in, because classes don't start until Monday.
• Here's something you don't see every day. Four rows of bleachers were filled almost entirely with female students. That doesn't necessarily mean Elon has a burgeoning female following -- it is rush week for the school's sororities.
• Davidson's Stephen Curry has become a little passive at the start of games. He didn't score in the first 10 minutes of Saturday's win against Western Carolina, and only took three shots in the first half Wednesday night. He had one point in the half and had two fouls and four turnovers.
• Davidson had 13 turnovers in the first half, despite facing only token pressure from Elon.

Overall great night for Elon athletics and the institution. It was one of the best environments I have EVER seen in the Nest. There were over 800 sorority girls there, and they STOOD the whole time. Imagine that.
Waters did an outstanding job shutting down Cury in the first, holding him to a single point. We let it slip away, but I was so happy for the team and the intensity they brought.
Just a fantastic night for Elon.
Biggest take away: It is so apparent that there is a DIRECT correlation between the turnout/noise and the performance of our guys. I think that may prove our inabilities on the road. It's just great to see the team bring 110% when they know the place is shaking and into the game.
GO PHOENIX
