I noticed that, 5 errors for CoC and 6 for Elon. Now 18-11... thats sweet.
I think I dislike CoC even more than ASU.... since a win by Elon helps us both.... all the better.

Congrats on the victory..... a 18 - 11 win over CoC is outstanding. Good Luck on Sunday, a win will keep Elon in the race for 1st place. Best of all, I know a loss this bad is killing the CoC fans.

I saw in an TN article that CoC had won something like 32 of their last 33 SoCon series. That is really dominating.

No Cougar fan I know of was predicting 3 wins. Most were thinking 2 wins would be a job well done at Elon and we accomplished that. As for Sat's game both teams played under the same conditions. The game was a pitcher and fielders nightmare for both teams.Cougars actually had 2 more hits than Elon in the game but your hits more timely. The whole game was a joke as far as good baseball goes for both teams. Must say we thoroughly enjoyed the weekend up there.

well im glad you could make the trip wish i could have. As for sats game ill take the win, but i almost turned the game off multiple time. It was just a bad night. Our radio was not online for some reason, your radio kept cutting in and out, the game seemed to drag on, and neither team could get any consistency going. GL to you guys and hope to see you again in the tourny.

This weekend seemed to confirm that we're just a third place team. The losses to High Point, Princeton, A&T; the failure to close out sweeps early in the conference season; getting swept by Western; losing the series the Charleston, especially the way we lost yesterday. We're still in the top third of the conference, which I think is where we expect to be. So it's not like the sky is falling. But for whatever reason (injuries were part of it early, but can't use that excuse now) we're just a third place team. The key now is a strong showing tomorrow night against Carolina and next week against ECU, then take care of business and sweep a very weak Wofford team to guarantee 3rd place in the league and build mo' for the SoCon tourney.

Well, given that we lost Donny Jobe due to a season ending finger injury and we were without Chris Dove and Rodebaugh for awhile I say we have had a decent season.
What really hurt in my opinion was 1) We outscored Appalachian State 37-11 in a three-game series, but won only two of the games. 2) We outscored Furman by a combined 23-7 in the first two games, then lost 11-2 in game 3. 3) We lost four conference games by one run, including two in extra innings, and two others by two runs.. including getting swept by Western.
Good thing we end with last place Wofford. Who knows what will happen in the tournament.
