Davidson is a 10 seed. ESPN thought they would be a 9. One guy said on CBS he thinks Davidson will make it to the Sweet 16.
Based on their actions on Monday night, I haven't yet decided if I will cheer for them or not.
Your thoughts?

In my opinion, Gonzaga is a tough draw for them. The WCC has several teams that play the same style as Davidson so it should be nothing new to Gonzaga. With that said, I'm pulling for Davidson to do well. It can only help the rest of the conference.
Go Phoenix!

By Friday, I'll probably be rooting for them, but if the game were today, I might not. Interestingly enough, I'm 99.5% sure they will be playing Friday afternoon. I hope to see part of the game (even if I'm not cheering for them).

Most of what I've been reading indicates that Davidson will play Friday around 2:45 - 3:00 PM

You all may disagree with me and have your own opinions about what Davidson winning will do to our conference.. blah blah
And if you are offended by my comments, I have every reason to voice these opinions after dealing with Davidson fans for several years. Their fans are a disgrace to Davidson College, and I would be ashamed to be a DC graduate.
I have NEVER in 5 years been treated relatively well by anyone representing Davidson College. I apologize for wearing an Elon shirt and representing our institution with class, Davidson. It's absolutely pathetic how you all act. It's pretty sad that there are 4,000+ alumni that absolutely live their life for a basketball team.
One story to sum it up for me. Last Monday I was downtown Charleston with some friends and a random Davidson fan comes up to us and promptly states (and I quote). "We have kidnapped Brett James and are now sufficating him." And then he walked away.
I've never been such a big Gonzaga fan. LET'S GO ZAGGGGGGGGGS!

I ran into a few Davidson fans as i was walking to the game in Davidson and had a civil convo with them, as i have in past years. I think it comes with the territory some fans are bad some are good. It just seems the bad ones are more vocal. Personally Ive never had a bad experience at Davidson. For the soccer games last year I sat down in there section for the whole tourney. We jeered back and fourth but nothing too insulting and all in fun. I'm not saying your wrong in your opinion but what i am saying is that Ive never experienced something that would make me feel anger against Davidson.

Well, we have to accept fair ribbing from our conference coutnerparts.
The only TERRIBLE experience I had was with GSU fans ( I won't site specifics), and to a lesser extent App fans. All other fans have been very civil to me, especially Davidson & Furman fans.
And I agree with EFF, all schools have their more vocal and less classy elements, even Elon.

Fan wise the only trouble I have witnessed was drunk students at App and overzealous cadets coming onto the field behind our team at The Citadel. GSU fans are delusional from what I read online, but I haven't been to their venues so I haven't experienced them first hand on their turf.
At Davidson They just looked & sounded like the type of fans I wish Elon had. One guy was yelling derogatory remarks to Nestor a couple of years ago but after one of our fans got into his face he quieted down.
I'll be pulling for them.

Ok, EFF, you got me. Point to you.
The game is at 12:25 PM, so anyone wanting to watch them needs to be sick on Friday. Personally, while part of me wants to watch the game, I'll have to settle for checking on ESPN.
As far as cheering for Davidson because it makes the conference look good, I don't like that argument. It's my personal opinion. Maybe I'm too hard on other fans, but when it gets personal between me and fans (as has happened with Davidson and App) I can't cheer for those teams. If you've had better experiences, that's your experience and your opinion.
