Hey guys, my wife and I just moved here a few months ago and we're having problems finding a good church to go to that we like. Any suggestions would be great. We came from a southern baptist church and that's more of what we're looking for but if there is a good non-denominational church we're up for that too. Where do Elon students usually go? We're both 23 so we're trying to get to know people that are closer to our age. Again...I appreciate your help.

I can recommend several churches in the area. If you're looking for a place in Burlington, try St. Marks. I'm sure a lot of Elon students go there. I'm not entirely thrilled with their theology, but its a place you could try. Westside Fellowship in Elon is a good place for new believers. I just left this church. There are not a whole lot of people your age there, however. I currently go to Westover Church in Greensboro. Westover is a big church, so you should be able to find some people your age there. I attend the singles group on Sunday evenings, but there is married ministry as well. Those are a few off the top of my head. If you have questions, or need directions, just send me a PM.

I personally attended FBC Elon for four years and loved it. There is some participation by Elon students, but mostly I loved it because of the welcoming environment of the people as well as Mark the pastor does a great job. They blend traditional and contemporary worship together.
If you are looking for contemporary only, I would suggest Spring Garden Church in downtown Greensboro. It is a dynamic place. It's located in a less fortunate neighborhood for the specific purpose of reaching the needy in that area of town. The pastor is awesome and really connects with young people.
Let me know if you have any further questions! God bless you!
