Can't blame Appy State for wanting to upgrade their Out of Conference schedule since few if anyone in the conference has given them much of a challenge the several years.

I'm just saying dont complain because "no one" will play you... Assuming Michigan to be a loss. Two D-2's would not count in the play-off selection. Thus one loss would mean no play-offs. So yes, no one will play them that counts.

well i would complain too if i was the top and couldnt get anyone to play that was in my devision. On the otherhand I doubt App would have to play DII, there are loads of DI that would love to play them. There main problem is there looking too much into the Bowl league, which is understandable buthard as long as there is seperation between leagues. Low D-IA teams seldom play top I-AA's as it really screws up there , thus there are not chances with losses. Thus there certaainly aren't loads of I-A's who would love to schedule App or any top I-AA's.

i think if they went for the bottom of the bowl league teams or any champions league they would be fine. there issues arise because they want teams in the BCS hunt We've already got our payday game for the season. At this point I think they're just looking for any possible FCS team where the finances work out. The main problem is that many of the FCS teams that would play us were already booked for the dates we have open. Our previous AD really left us in the crunch as far as near-term OOC games go. He knew he was leaving so he didn't bother with them. So in other words, the new AD already has a couple years schedules done in advance after this one? If not, he must be leaving, too? Last year's schedule worked out fine and that woman fixed '05's up great after that directioinal Louisiana team backed out in the Spring.. Thanks to Elon shifting dates. This one is entirely on your new AD.

I'm sure our current AD has discussed '08, '09 + slots with some schools already. If the old AD had done the job right we'd have already had one OOC game scheduled before he left. Our current AD got us a great money game (with a team that's never played an FCS opponent before) and is working to patch the holes in this year's schedule before looking ahead. What's wrong with that?

it takes a little time go get teams to commit and since 08 and 09 are not done yet your looking for others that are open. It prob will not be until 10 that you have a schedule that was easy to create and that schedule's sketches will be started yesterday. Give it a little time SoconF

What's wrong with that? The old one has been gone long enough that the new AD should be current by his own efforts. Two years is about as long as I-AA's schedule in advance. One home and home is it. The point was, if the old AD was supposed to have nailed down 3 years in advance before he left then Cobb should be through with 2008 at least by now.

Well, we don't know what the situation is with 2008's schedule yet do we? I think we're supposed to play @ JMU and LSU (that might have been pushed to '09 or '10 though). The rest we don't know because they haven't said one way or another.

In other words there isn't one. This guy will be working on the next year's schedule every April or until ASU starts losing.

take your $$$$$$$ and no one cares if no one wants to play you. leave the SoCon and you'll never get anyone but WCU & LR to schedule your 2 home games.

It came out that some FBS school in the MAC conference offered Appalachian $300,000 to come up and play them. When Appalachian called back they said no....even when ASU cut it to $200,000 and was willing to cut it lower.....they finally told them they just plain didn't want to play them....that they just didn't want to play them. (Rumored to be Kent State, but that is totally unsubstantiated.)
