Unfortunately, this isn't 1999, we haven't had a record of 9-2 or 7-4 since that time. Due to a lot of circumstances we are still in a rebuilding mode. I think our schedule looks well balanced for our team at this point in time. If we traded WVWC and Stony Brook for Wake And GA Tech, for example, we'd be complaining about our win-loss record and about having only 4 home games. I think our schedule is good. We get a decent money game at USF. Liberty and Stony Brook will not be pushovers. We have a tune-up game with WVWC and a very strong conference schedule. In 2-3 years when we are at the top of our conference a schedule like this one may questionable. Sorry man, but this sked is NOT well balanced. As for a strong conference sked, we'll see if the SoCon is back up to par overall this year.

Tough enough to please the fans, easy enough to keep a good record.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- soconf, could you expand your comments a bit? How does this schedule "play it smart"? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a schedule that last year's team should have won 6-7 off of, so, if we are better, we should win 7-8 games, if we play below last year's level, we might still win 6 games..So either way the coaching staff looks good but in return, we have no chance of making the play offs unless we win the Conference right out. If you are a coach looking to move up, this is a good schedule, if you trying to build a Southern Conference team?? I think most of us will just be happy to win 6-7 next year and don't really care how silly the wins are..Bring on Cowan and UNCP.

This isn't a horrible schedule.
South Florida - good money game. Big East team that went 7-4, beat WVU & Pittsburg, won their bowl game.
WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN - DII game. Lots of teams have them. Consider it a tune-up for Liberty and a chance to rest folks who might have been injured at USF.
LIBERTY - Looks like a contender for the Big South this year. Don't count it as a win but it's winnable.
STONY BROOK - Soon to be new memeber of Big South. An up and coming former NEC school that went 5-2 in conference last season. They're building up their scholarship levels and look to be better this season. This might look like a bad game, but it's really not.
I think you've got a reasonable chance to go 6-5 and maybe 7-4 this season. USF is likely a loss. Playing at Wofford and Furman is going to hurt and I don't know if you'll be able to beat App at home, but GSU is up in the air this season and could be a good win at home. You'll have to make the most of those Stony Brook and Liberty games but you've got the edge at home.

i dont know pigs might fly off the BBQ this homecomming. Last year we hung in there except for a stretch of 3 TD and bad decisions. So this year I think we should be in the game. Win it, i dont know but 1 or 2 TDs down Id bet on it.

We play Chattanooga for Homecoming this year, don't we? I can see us winning that game. I'm guessing you were referring to us playing GA Southern (whenever) this season, though?
