Although many of us weren't around when she was coaching here, we lost a former member of the Elon community this morning. Keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. www.wral.com/news/local/story/3051932/Go Phoenix!

Very sad news indeed. She was my PE teacher for golf and archery during my freshman year, which, I think, was her second year there. Anyway, she was patient and available if you needed help. As good a coach as she was, she was an even better person. I also remember one of her players, and a friend of mine, Teddy Ireland, painted a still-life for her when it was announced she was leaving. When I had a break in my art class I'd go over and see how it was progressing. Turned out great.
Deepest condolences to her family, friends, and players; but especially to Debbie and Susan.
The world's a little emptier today
