This is from a southernpigskin.com article on rising stars in the SoCon...
Elon - Senior quarterback Wes Pope earned All-SoCon honors last year so why am I including him in the rising star group? He was an unknown last year after moving from tight end and he possesses very good size for the position. He could be a player that the NFL takes a long look at if he has a big year. Junior linebacker Corey Weaver showed flashes of stardom last season and should have the chance to fully blossom with the graduation of All-American linebacker Chad Nkang. Sophomore wide receiver Terrell Hudgins had an All-American season last year and should establish himself not only as a top player in the nation but a future NFL prospect with the return of Pope. Senior defensive back Chris Bland defended eight passes last year, with four of them being interceptions, and he is expected to be one of the best safeties in the league this season.

These guys deserve to have a good year...they suffered through some really bad seasons and truly are due some respect.

It really makes me thankful that Wes Pope stuck things out through Hamilton. IT shows a lot of character!!!!

We finally have proven, quality players at several key positions, guys that have been used to winning and are dedicated to getting better, those kind of positives give this squad a shot at winning every game this year. not that they will but they will be in every game and it will be exciting, put a positive expectancy mindset to smart coaches and players that CAN make plays is a great recipe for success.

hold on there... every game!!!! I think we have a shot at most of our games but USF will be a long shot. App is a possibility if we eliminate the 5 min of mishaps we had last year. other then those 2 id agree with you. We have the players, we now have the coach we have the fans and we have the drive. I think its time for the football team to live the legion of the phoenix and rise from there ashes and kick some footbutt
