Anyone else heard this? If true, this could have a trickle down effect on the SoCon, CAA and Elon.

I've heard FB only for ECU. Tulane for all sports.

I don't see this affecting us at all save for the odd chance CUSA looks to replenish with some FCS teams.

That's what I was thinking. App was hoping to make it to the CUSA this year anyway. This may get them there. If they replenish from the MAC or Sun Belt that may have an effect on Ga So. moving up as well. If that happens the SoCon would be significantly impacted. Maybe none of this will happen but it's still fun to speculate.

Well with loosing a football only, they might not fill the gap

ECU is football only for the Big East. The likelihood that they will stay in the CUSA for any other sports is very, very slim to none. Right now they are talking about going to the A10, A-Sun or possibly CAA for the non football sports.
I'm assuming you are saying that CUSA may not fill the gap. CUSA is a football centered conference. I would be shocked if they didn't replace both ECU and Tulane. They may even look further than that if they suspect Marshall might be looking elsewhere.

There is no question they will look to reload and fill the gap of Tulane and ECU leaving - the question is where do they look to do that from.
Do they go all the way to pulling someone from FCS such as App or a CAA team looking to move up? Do they look to a lesser conference with a strong program that could move up a notch? I would think that CUSA would look to pull from a lower tier FBS conference rather than an FCS team. App seems to want to jump right into a CUSA situation rather than Sun Belt. So if CUSA pulled a team up from a lower conference that resulting opening wouldnt appeal to them in my opinion. The only way they go is if they had an option to jump right to CUSA.

CUSA added Middle Tennessee and FAU today On a related story, thousands of individuals wearing t shirts with a black, gold and white "A" were seen running in the streets across North Carolina literally pulling their hair out of their heads and sobbing uncontrollably.

I heard Sun Belt is looking as GSU as a possibility to fill one of their openings.

Originally I thought App would go CUSA and GSU would go Sun Belt. All of this App snubbing is very curious. I know that Boone is far from anything that can be described as a media market, but I will (reluctantly) admit that they have probably the 4th best game day experience in the state. They also have a very large following outside the ACC schools and ECU. Personally I think most would be surprised at the media support they would get. Certainly as good or better than any current Sun Belt school.

Sun Belt is currently looking at Jacksonville State, App, Liberty, JMU and GSU. They could take some or all of them.
ECU was football only to the Big East, that may change with Louisville now gone.
There's also a lot of speculation of FSU and Clemson to the Big 12 and NC State and Virginia Tech to the SEC and even UNC and Virginia to the Big 10.
Also, rest assured, the tier 1 movements aren't over. If any top movement comes, the Big East, then CUSA/MAC will react with Sun Belt or FCS schools. You can almost guarantee that App, GSU are gone. And with Charleston announcing CAA tomorrow, the SoCon is on shakey ground. UTC could easily go with ETSU as a package to the OVC.
