The two teams are already locked in to the top 2 seeds for the conference tournament - Davidson #1 having won the South and Elon #2 having won the North, but Davidson cannot be caught in the standings. Interesting to see who plays and how much - have not heard any news about Troutman at this point.

I think by both team rest the injured. Though a win will not effect the standings in will in the momentum. So neither team can afford to had the other team a win

I expect it will be a game time decision whether Lucas plays - can't help but believe we would have beaten Chattanooga if he had been out there - rest of the team has shown they can win without him, but Lucas, Sebastian, Ryley and Jack all have such a connection - if one of them hits a slump, usually another picks it up. Also have to believe that Lucas must be chomping at the bit to get back on the court - esp. for the Davidson game. However...if he's not 100%, I totally agree that resting him up for tournament is wise.

This game means very little. The one that matters is in Asheville.
I would love a win. However, we need to win in March.

Too bad, I'll have to listen to Dick Stewart tonight. Ugh.

I was very proud of the team last night. I think something Coach Matheny has tried to do to prepare for conference competition is to play higher level out of conference teams. It was obvious if you watched the Duke game that the biggest difference between them and us was the speed at which they played.
Two things were very obvious to me in last night's game. 1: Davidson has more in common with the Duke style of play than with our other SoCon foes and 2: We are capable of playing in that manner too.
Looking back at Davidson's conference scores, it appears that they play at this high pace all the time. Other conference teams just can't keep up. Last night should show us that we can play at that pace effectively too, and if we keep up that pace, rather than letting our competition dictate the pace, we can approach Davidson's success. We certainly have the talent. The Elon team that played last night should be 15-2 in the conference, at worst. The talent is there, what we need now is to match that talent with consistently high speed/intensity. Hopefully that's what we'll see in the tournament.

Hell of a game last night. Hated that we couldn't come out with the win, but still a heck of a game.

I'm pumped, coming to town Saturday to visit daughter number 2 and take in the last home game. Sweet. Will be there in time to catch the baseball game Saturday afternoon so I'm double pumped. How much better could it get?

Too bad, I'll have to listen to Dick Stewart tonight. Ugh. This guy has absolutely nothing to offer - he is terrible. It is nice that he is at least an Elon cheerleader, but that is about all he is. He provides no real insight to go along with Taylor Durham's play-by-play.

Not only does he not add much, he yells "yes!" and "go!" in the middle of the play, which is extremely confusing on the radio. Drives me nuts. You could also make a drinking game out of the number of times Durham tells us what day of the week it is or says "and indeed it is." Go Phoenix!

I don't want to ruin broadcasts for you but definitely work in "On a Saturday night in Elon" (or fill in the blank for game day/time) as well as "Can't get through" as he tries to describe a drive that doesn't work out.
