i appreciate your enthusiasm and due diligence.... I sure believe that at our level We need to make sure our recruits can compete and win FCS competition. We sure have to have more hits than misses. I can go down our recruiting lists over the last 3 to 4 years and see players that have yet to make it to the field. We do have some hits and great walkon stories. Way back in the day We were a retread school where so many of guys came to Elon after they washed out or just got caught up in the numbers at a big time school. Times change and our facilities are superior and so are the admission standards.... I also see the recruiting game for some guys making commits and then a Bowl school swoops in and nabs a guy at the last minute. All about ego. We have to have guys that want to be here. We have to get bigger stronger faster quicker & and develop a winning strategy that creates a following I think We have a shot at anyone We can get on campus.

You mentioned two things I would like to expound on, Ego and create a following. The ego part. It has been determined these prospects read these boards and once they are mentioned interest level in that school increases. Then you at least get the opportunity to get an interview with the prospect to find out how his academic standing is. Then the possibility of camp is next. We also need an insider to let us know who is being offered and post it. You never know what good things could happen. This also creates a following. Elon needs a large positive following. The Fan base needs to be rabid. When you talk recruiting, each prospect you talk about is the next star of the program at his position. Colleges make kids want to be there. Ga. Southern and App State have countless kids considering them on the sites. Elon has 2, a WR from Garner, NC and a S from Aiken, SC. I will profile them later. I don't discredit the past recruiting classes but its time to have more hits than misses. It's time to be proactive and let prospects how great Elon is and also time to get a positive rabid fan base.

Brayden Sims: 6'2", 180 lbs. WR. Garner, NC. Big frame. He is watching Elon and Elon is watching him. Could be the next Mellette. Garner produces football players. Sims has been on campus. Need to keep the pressure.

Jordan Scott : 5'11", 180 lbs. projected as a safety. Needs more swivel in his hips but has a hitters mentality. Will bring a toughness, that could get him on the field early as special teamer. From Aiken, SC.

Is that a request? Are you a moderator? If it does get shut down then that will speak volumes on the state of Elon football today. It's a football recruiting thread in a football forum. I played at Elon from 87-90. The fan base was completely different at that time. Rabid. Recruiting is year round now. If you don't chatter about these kids, then how can Elon get on their radar.

Posting recruits names on this board is not going to help in the cause. Coaches recruit, fans talk on message boards...that's they way of the world today. If they are good enough, players will be found. If they have the grades, they will get recruited. Touting them on the board is not going to help in any way.

Then I have to ask you a question.... Do you think football camps are by invitation only? If so then why should there be any hope of a kid to get a scholarship outside of the top 25 players in the state. How is a player to get noticed by a school he is interested in if a recruiter never shows up? ESP? As for grades, most prospects evaluate with there guidance counselors and HS coaches the admission requirements to colleges they are interested. that means Elon needs to get on there radar. Yes Fans write on message boards, twitter pages, and social media, and they are seen by alot more than can be imagined. Have you ever googled your name? I believe all of us have. Is there a how many times this page has been viewed counter anywhere on the boards? I think you would be surprised by the increase of traffic when a recruiting thread is added. But if you want to wait for 22 prospects to magically commit that's your prerogative. If all you want to do is debate on how this is not effective and useless, then realize for a prospect considering on coming here will have an easier decision on deciding against Elon. Consider what it means "to recruit". Again if a moderator locks this thread then it will stop.

most recruiting issues should be made in the members only are of the "Nest" in the past if there is an article that mentions a prospect it will be listed there and usually only after a verbal commitment. prospects want to go to "big time programs" and 3 ,4 Star recruits usually go there. We usually get on to a player lets say that goes to camp at Wake and We evaluate them as someone that might fit us better. Glad your on board no doubt you will contribute :-)

I would say, however, that you should also send this info directly to Swepson. I doubt he or any of his staff look at this board regularly if at all.
