We may have still lost after the unsportsmanlike charged to Swepson, but by doing that he sealed the loss for Elon. We had a chance before he gave A&T a fresh set of downs on the 2 yard line. With less than 2 minutes left in the game. He should be ashamed. Definitely not HC material.

The Swepson tantrum with 2 minutes to go was an absolute embarrassment. He wasn't engaged with the team basically since half time and chose that moment to confront a ref, to give A&T a fresh set of downs to get a TD, they may have gotten the TD anyway, but it was not guaranteed.
Swepson has to go. If it were me, I would fire him now. Between this and the running clock at Georgia Tech, he's shown a general inability to coach. We need to fire now and start interviewing now. Let Pincince finish out the season as interim coach.

I'll be the first to say it FC97 you were right. I can't even type right now I'm so t off. This is not elon football this is not elon tradition I didn't want to be right There's lots of good coaches we could pick from. North Greenville, Gardner-Webb come to mind just to look at more success than us right now. Shoot! Get Hatcher from Murray.

There is a talented group of guys on the field, the team lacks a good coaching staff. We should not be losing to A&T!! I agree Swepson should be more engaged with his players, not just standing there with arms crossed. If he could take the energy he uses to yell at the refs and take time to talk to his team and boost morale things might look different. He is not a players coach and that's an important in order to have a winning program. The play calling from the OC is definitely weak at best, definitely NOT interim coach material.

First, the players played their guts out. A&T was a faster, bigger and just flat out better team. With all that said, we had a chance until the final minutes to win the game. Great effort from the PLAYERS! The coaches...another story. The play calling was atrocious tonight...even worse than usual. The worst moment had to be the 4th and 1 with about 5:30 to go in the 4th. We are moving the ball and advance into Aggie territory...clearly having the momentum. If we go for it...worst case we turn the ball over on their side of the field....best case...we keep driving and score a TD to go ahead. So what do we do..call timeout and punt? It was a great punt...but we never crossed the Aggie 35 again. Lousy...As for the end...not much I can add to what already has been said. I would like to know what Jason said..you know the ref tried everything to avoid flagging Swepson..it must have been pretty bad. Here our kids are working their butts off...and their coach sells them out. Who knows...we hold at 3rd and 1..force A&T into a FG attempt..they miss (totally possible), and we have 2:00 to go win the game. Great job Swepson...

Agreed on the weak play calling. Not sure what to do interim wise. Just know that the current way of doing things is tearing the program down. It's very sad to watch the decline.

I usually don't weigh in on dismissing coaches until after the season and all evaluations are done. I believe it was agreed that we were only going to win 1 game this season, but its looking like we will be much more competitive than that. Here is where the pain sets in, being very competitive and not capitalizing when we should. We look to our leadership and find none. You ask where is the emotion? There is no emotion due to his pedigree. Swepson has always been this way, its just magnified now. Here in lies the issue, you fire the coach, who is going to interim once you fire him? You cant hire a coach in the middle of the season, cause you will essentially be telling your coach "who cares what you do". Who suffers in these scenarios? Your team and your fans. Soooooooo what do you do? How do you win? Well if I am Swepson I start calling plays at certain points to open up the offense. OC needs more misdirection. More high risk, high reward plays. Remember we have a young team and blocks will be missed. Well with high risk comes the possibility of throwing away drives. This goes against the coaches pedigree but he needs to be flexible. He has to get involved on defense, its time to start hurting some feelings. Either way this is a make or break year. I am looking at 5 candidates for next years opening just like everyone else.

Because firing the coach is like a fight or an ejection in hockey.
