Not much to say, but still thought I'd start the thread anyway.
Any expectations, or will we simply start the SoCon season 0-2?

If Furman has a similar running game to last year's, we will have to score a lot of points to win. With last year's running game, Furman scores a minimum of 30 points. Our new found rushing game will be tested this week as Furman has the conference's #1 rushing defense. Hopefully, we rejuvenate the passing attack this week as this will give us the best chance against a sub par Furman secondary.

Furman guarded the triple option masterfully last week versus El Cid, forcing the Bulldogs to pass. They passed fairly well, so that does give me a little hope.

Well...if we could play the way we did 1st half against Coastal, I would say we have a shot...but the 2nd half team probably could not beat many high schools. Our away games have not been good so far - and although Furman does not appear to be the powerhouse it used to be, I lay odds their way. Keep hoping that maybe we are playing without some key players who will soon return, and our season will turn around. Hurts me to say, as I've been a loyal football fan for years, but I'm ready for basketball.

Congrats to the team for the first SOCON win of the season. Great first half by both off and def. Elon had to fight the last quarter but the defense bowed up the last two series to get us our first win against D-IAA. We would have scored more in the 2nd half but a key fumble (Coppedge) hurt us when we were driving at the 5 yard line.....and Furman made a run by scoring two TDs to make it close. Again, props to the D for their stand the last two series.....something to build on.

Kudos to the team. Much needed win and confidence builder. Will need to bring more of same next week against Wofford.

28-10 at half...28-25 final score...we need to play all 4 quarters but at this point who cares how we win as long as we get the W

Great win...wasn't expecting it so that's always nice. Wofford will be really tough. Good luck, here's keeping the fingers crossed.
Off-topic: what is going on with App and GaSo...wow

To be fair, toe Coppedge hit was brutal.
To be more fair, Gallaghar being 1 for 9 with FG this year. I am not going to rag on a freshman kicker, but, goodness. It has to be a mind game at this point. Makes me wonder what people are saying to him in the locker room given how Swepson acts outside it.

Coppedge is a good RB. He is very small though. His height is fine but he needs to work on his strength. A little more upper body strength & he'll be fine. BJ is the one to watch though. Next year he' ll be #1.

Anybody have an update on BJ's injury? Will he be back for Wofford?

Well, that was a surprising win.
I'm not exactly sure though what has been up with the offense after the half the last 2 weekends. Both games they have opened extremely strong, but manage very little yards in the 2nd.
I'm glad the defense was able to muster enough gas late in the 2nd for 2 good stands.
