“We did the right thing. We just didn’t execute,” Swepson said. “There was no reason for trickery down there. We’re not a hocus-pocus, try-to-fool-them football team. You’ve got to be able to run the football, even when they know it’s coming.”
Since when is a crossing route, or a sweep or a post to the corner or a handoff to the slot around the weak side, etc. etc. hocus-pocus or trickery. I think Blank has done a good job other than hiring this guy, but he needs to tackle this guy and duct tape his mouth shut. Every time he opens it he says something asinine.

Yes yes, I said I was leaving, but I'm not. I'm lurking.
I kind of feel bad for the OC. The DC sucks. But the OC, though conservative, seems to be ok. I mean, we built these leads under his direction. Sounds like Swepson is overriding him.

Those were my thoughts FC97.
I do want to make a couple points.
1. As fans, did we really think our team would have played well enough to be in a position to win this game? I've seen good improvement in certain areas over the season, but I did not think they would be in a position to win. 2. Again, we were killed after the half. The D held Wofford to something like 120 yards in the first half, but exploded in the 2nd. How can the coaches not be making adjustments?? 3. Swepson's comments kind of irk me. He basically said in that article, "we're not playing to win. we'd do it the same way if we were in the same situation." From my perspective, that is not a winner's mentality. A winner does whatever it takes to win. And also judging by his comments, it seems he did overrule the OC. 4. It's clear that we have the players and the talent to win, we need the right coach to get over the hump. I like the OC, he has the boys playing pretty well. 5. It's time for a new HC. I can't stand his comments like "this team needs to learn how to win." No, you have to play to win and you're not making the calls to win and sure as heck aren't making the comments that cultivate winners.
With that said, hats of to Wofford for battling back in this one. Resilience speaks volumes about how well a team is coached.
