For those of us away from campus, how did the guys look tonight? Seems to be spread out statistically and HUGE dunk from the freshman, but other than that what were your thoughts for those that attended?!

Remember the name Christian Hairston. You're going to hear it a lot. He's fast agile and plays way above the rim. I'm surprised he didn't get an acc invite.

I didn't see Isenbarger in the box score. Anyone know why he didn't play?

Thanks for the info. I hope a promising season is not wiped out by injuries. I do not know if others have this problem, but it seems I cannot read TN articles without subscribing.

Here's the text from the article: ELON — Perhaps the most significant development from Elon’s blowout in exhibition men’s basketball Monday night was a non-development. Jack Isenbarger, the all-conference guard, didn’t suit up and remained out of action as the Phoenix pounded Division III Lynchburg 100-57 at Alumni Gym. Mixed among coach Matt Matheny’s post-game comments about Elon’s accomplishments in this dress rehearsal — and there were many — was the news that Isenbarger, one of the four core seniors upon which the Phoenix’s program has been built, is recovering from a stress reaction in his right foot. Isenbarger has resumed exercises such as taking jump shots, treadmill running and defensive slides, Matheny said, but he has yet to participate in a practice this preseason. “We’re close to getting him into practice,” Matheny said. “We’re really trying to go slow with him. We’re probably being more tentative than we have to be, because we understand how long the season is.” Elon opens the season Friday night against Division III Washington & Lee. In Monday night’s tune-up against Lynchburg, Tanner Samson’s four 3-pointers and 17 points led five Elon players in double-digit scoring. Luke Eddy (15 points), Austin Hamilton (14 points), Ryley Beaumont (11 points and 11 rebounds) and Lucas Troutman (11 points) were the others. Troutman played with a plastic mask protecting his face — a look similar to Richard Hamilton’s in the NBA — the result of a broken nose suffered in a collision with senior classmate Sebastian Koch. The highlight of the night was delivered by Elon’s Christian Hairston, a freshman wing out of Greensboro Day School, who turned a steal into a fastbreak dunk, a facial hammered over Lynchburg’s Manny Hernandez, who went up in an attempt to challenge and instead became a posterized victim. “He swung and missed. It worked out well for us,” Hairston said. “That brought a lot of energy to the entire building,” Koch said. “People were still going ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ even two plays after that.” Isenbarger isn’t the lone missing piece for Elon. Egheosa Edomwonyi and Ryan Winters, a pair of reserve forwards, didn’t suit up Monday night due to knee injuries. Matheny said Winters is two weeks shy of returning to practice while Edomwonyi’s timetable is unclear.

Eddy looks like he could be a real scorer. Can he play point guard? I noticed the roster does not show the players heights - really unusual.

Where are you looking that you don't see heights? They are on the web site.

The mobile menu doesn't show the heights unless you click on the individual player. It will then go to the full site where the heights are.
Eddy is 6'0"" btw.

Eddy & Hamilton will make a good pair. Eddy is very quick. What he loses in ball handling and finesse he makes up for in speed, where Hamilton is very much finesse, (although he's pretty quick too). Based on what I saw on Monday, Eddy will have to work on his passing a little bit. The reason Lucas only had 11 points was largely because Eddy's timing on his passes to Lucas was off a little.
