With nothing to lose the rest of the way, why not open things up on offense the last two games. First off, eliminate the predictable and ineffective, first down dive plays up the middle. Ever since BJ got hurt early in the season he has been running tentative. Most of his first steps are sideways. With his size and speed he should be running full speed down hill. Add more read option plays with QB keeping the ball and running. Involve tight ends more with roll-out passes. More Kierre Brown and Tracey Coppedge on slot run options. Give Andre Davis a shot at running the wildcat. He was a pretty good qb in high school and would give us a good run option at qb. Oh well, no harm in dreaming.

I like the way you're thinking. We need to play to our personnel, not try to force the players into a specific system. After the first couple of games it was obvious that Quinn is a better roll out/play action passer, especially to Warrick than he is a pocket passer. Also, as a group, we have got to have one of the best receiving corps in FCS football. Rorie, Davis, K. Brown, Warrick, Osbourne, R. Brown... Sick! These guys are as good as or better after the catch than Hudgins or Mellette ever were. We just have to find a way to get them the ball!! Speaking of Running backs, if BJ would run with the same intensity as Bostic, he may be leading the SoCon. He has shown the ability to accelerate into the line but just doesn't seem to want to do that anymore. He is also tackled too easily. He needs to spend the off season running through a thicket or in a muddy shallow river bottom so he can learn to drive his legs without falling down. A. Davis is a playmaker. We have got to find a way to get the ball in his hands more. I like the idea of using him in the wildcat. That would be a good start.
I really like the tone of your post here TP. It's the first positive football post I've seen here in months. Maybe it is a dream, but I too would like to see the coaching staff evaluate what they have, especially offensively, and try to design some plays around our talent. If anyone looks at what we've got in our receiving corps and the O Line alone, they would be scratching their heads at why we aren't having a winning season. We just need some coaching!

So whatever happened to using Trevor Vassey at wideout? Seems like a 6'6" 240 lb WR would be quite the weapon.

"When coach Jason Swepson takes an analytical look at the Elon football team, he sees progress and development that has become obscured by lost games." vs. "Elon’s 35-10 loss to The Citadel last weekend left noticeable grumbles echoing among those at Rhodes Stadium for homecoming. Swepson called it “a low point.”
We’re just not physically and mentally strong enough to play a 60-minute football game. It’s being proven time after time.” vs. “[Strength & conditioning coach Ted Perlak] hasn’t even been here a year and our strength and conditioning has gone to a new level”.
