Bateman coming back would be tremendous because he knows the school and the recruiting profile of kids that we need to be successful here. But Scott from Old Dominion is an intriguing candidate in my opinion as well. It should be an interesting few weeks!

Thoughts on Mercer's Bobby Lamb? Just set the NCAA record for wins by start-up program. History of winning, 30 FCS playoff games and 3 national championship game appearances as player and coach. I could see him getting snatched from Mercer Pretty quick.

I'm assuming the last two were joking.

Comparable school to Elon, more lateral move (except the CAA is and will be a better conference, so maybe that appeals) than an advancement.

Wasn't Bobby Lamb forced out at Furman? Why would Elon want to go after someone like that?

I can't see Blank taking a risk on Lamb either. If he were to lose at Elon like he did his last several years at Furman, the donors would be pretty hot under the collar at Blank for hiring a proven loser at the FCS level. I think our next coach will be relatively young, with a winning track record and a lot of energy. I also think the new hire will come with a proven staff in tow. Also, don't expect an announcement until after the first round of bowl games are complete. I would guess that some of the candidates are at the FBS level.
Does anyone know what's happening with the players in the interim? Is one of the coaches keeping them together? I'm sure Perlack is keeping up workouts. Does anyone know?

It's my hope that We obtain a proven leader and winner but our biggest challenge is that We as a program and our main culture change is to become a "Mentally Tougher" team and that goes with a better physically conditioned squad like a Duke or a Stanford. A Mature presence that makes this program be accountable which makes the players take an ownership mentality. If our players are not here to not accept losing and improving our next Head Coach just might have an "Auburn" turnaround.

Its my understanding that all the coaches are still employed except for Swepson at this point.

No, Lamb was not at Vandy. He was forced out of Furman.

No, Lamb was not at Vandy. He was forced out of Furman. I just looked at his record. It really wasn't that bad. Just not up to Furman's standards I guess. 9 seasons with only 1 losing season. 1 conference championship, (shared). 4 trips to the playoffs in the first five years of his tenure there. No trips in the last 4 years. That's probably the reason he was canned.

It sure is quiet on here. Any coaching news? Any, anyone, give us something. The sound of crickets is giving me a headache. Anybody. Someone has heard something, haven't ya?

With the playoffs and Thanksgiving it will be quiet for a little while. As teams start loosing or playing there bowl games I expect to hear more chatter.
