This should be a win. But, that kind of thinking will get us a loss. The Phoenix seem to be gelling right now. If we continue to improve, we could peak during the tournament, which is exactly what we want. The slightest mental letdown, however, could foil the whole thing. Here's looking forward to playing stifling defense and balanced scoring against the Paladins.

Really should have placed this in the GSU column...the team probably played their best game this past Saturday. I was fortunate enough to see the game and the Elon Nation would have been proud. The team weathered many challenges in the game, including issues with the zebras. Each time they held on and fought harder to make sure they won. Sebastion, Lucas (X2), Hamilton, Dawkins, Blake all received shots which should have been flagrant fouls. In each instance the team gathered together and re-grouped. The bench stepped up and gave key minutes to help stop GSU rallies.
The team had a sense of urgency and never wilted when challenged. The total effort was from everyone. It was good to see the bench pulling for whoever was playing. Kudos to the team and the coaches...they did a hell of a job at GSU. That said, if we get the same effort at Furman, we should be okay. It appears as if everyone is giving us their best shot. We have a target on our backs...lets continue to help the team win...Go Phoenix!!!

I listened to the GSU game & I heard what you saw. I think you're right that everyone is giving us their best shot right now. I think we'll get the same from Furman. They just handed App a loss last week so they haven't given up.

When you've been in the SoCon for a while and frequent the message boards, they each have a personality. Davidson has a lot of informative, interesting and intelligent posters, App is boastful, Wofford is typically pretty good except for one poster who is delusional, GSU is typically pretty good too except for a couple who are typically negative. We tend to be a little apathetic. And the UFFP has the whiners. Check this out for a chuckle. www.uffp2.com/SMF20/index.php?topic=8290.0My favorite is "There has been no bigger curse placed on the conference than eloan." I can pretty much understand a Furman fan saying that, though. Since we've been in the SoCon the basketball record is Elon 10 - Furman 4. In football they hold the edge Furman 6 - Elon 5. And in baseball it's Elon 23 - Furman 11. I'd pretty much see us as a curse too with those records.

78-49 Final. I can't recall that kind of dominating performance in conference ever to be honest. That was a complete game. Still a lot of work to do. Keep it going guys.
Go Phoenix!

I believe it is 11-3 and 2nd place in the standings thanks to back-to-back losses by Chatanooga and Wofford's loss to Davidson. Two big games at home to go.
