Was at practice and RJ seems to be doing very well - he goes in on both the first and second teams at TE and looked good on blocking plays. He runs a nice short route in the 0-10 yard zone - usually open. He does speed up when in the open field. He also looks to be the second team punt snapper.
As for rest of team - Defense looks like best in the last 4 years. Lots of speed and quickness and looks very confident and aggressive as a unit. D line has good 1 & 2 team depth with some big and fast players in the mix. Same for DB and LB.
Offense looks like it needs a little more time to get its rhythm. O-line a work in progress with a few players nicked up and many getting used to new positions or linemates. QB looks like Quinn with Lock a close second - Quinn better in the short passing game (0-10 yards) while Lock look better in the longer passing game. With the O-line still jelling, probably won't be much time in pocket for any long passing. Running game looks good with handoffs looking much smoother between QB's and RB than in years past. TE looks to be used more in passing game this year and WR are a nice mix of speed and size.
Special teams getting more emphasis than before, especially with special situations (ex. receiving punt after a safety, or defending on-side kicks). Specialists (P, K, LS, PR) look good all around.
Hopefully we stay injury-free in the Duke game.
