Elon enters a tough conference with a team that has lost its top four players. By my count they play 31 regular season games not including the CAA tourney. How many wins will the Phoenix have?

Are we talking men or women? Good catch - I was referring to the men's team.

Looking at the schedule and the youth of our team.....I think 10 will be the max, more likely 8-9. HOPE I AM WRONG ON THIS. Big question will be the play of interior players Winters, Saboto, Anton and Dawkins when healthy. Even in the exhibition on Friday night Elon was outrebounded by 1 at the half. Not sure how we compete with bigger, tougher teams. We may get a better feel this weekend with FAU and Charlotte. Freshmen Thompson, Bryant look very good Friday night and Anton had good minutes. Another key to our game will outside shooting. If Tanner is on it bodes well for us. Thompson has a nice shot and Eddy knocked a few down. Either way...we hope for the best and get good experience for your young players. Go Phoenix

I hate to say it...we should not be rebuilding in year six of a coaching staff.

I hate to say it...we should not be rebuilding in year six of a coaching staff. The result of a couple recruiting classes without any real stars. Let's hope the last couple classes develop into quality players. BTW, 7 votes in the poll - looks like not much interest in the men's basketball team anyway.

I think we have some serious talent in the freshman class. We will struggle early on, but I expect us to be very competitive come the back half of the year...looks like we have a Tanner Samson type shooter coming in next year's recruiting class (Santa Ana), but the big question marks for me going into this season are three point shooting and controlling the boards.
With our speed and athleticism I expect a lot more transition points this season...should be a fun group to watch!

I also think we may struggle early, but the 2nd half of the year may be a different story as things will begin to click. I think Christian Hairston has all the potential in the world be a monster, as well as freshamn Dmitri Thompson.

I'm being optimistic - it's kind of hard to make a prediction when I have not yet seen the team play; however, if they stay healthy, I think we may surprise a lot of teams this year. That said, I anticipate the CAA to be much tougher than the SoCon, so it may be more of a struggle. Next year this time, I hope to vote that we will win at least 18 games. We are still smaller in many positions than I would probably like...but I think the combined level of athleticism has continued to improve each year.

The team has already reached the most popular choice for total wins this season. Let's hope they can continue surprising.

I was thinking about resurrecting this thread too, but I decided to wait & see how we do against Hofstra & NU.
