If you missed today's game you missed a fun one. Central Penn is a D2 team, but they have been averaging over 100 pts. per game & favor a fast break transition game. I've complained about the pace of the Elon game in the past. No complaints here today. We simply exhausted a fast break team. They were sucking wind shortly after the start of the 2nd half. Big dunks by Blake, Hairston and Thompson. This team is the most athletic team we've had at Elon in the past two decades. Samson was dialed in as well with 25 pts. and 11 boards. VERY enjoyable game to watch. Final Score: 117-73.

Just a note. Central Penn is NOT a D2 school. It's not even an NCAA school. The fact that we played two of these games is utterly embarrassing.

They have been playing a much better home schedule the past few years with UMass, South Carolina, Charlotte, etc. so I'm not that concerned with 1 or 2 games like this. Honestly, it's no different than playing a DIII school. I think ECU even played VUL earlier in the year, UNCW played St. Andrews (NAIA) and I'm sure there are countless other examples.
Anyhow, I wasn't able to follow today's game, but about what I expected based on last year's game against them. I noticed Sampson was listed as one of the top performers on the espn scores page.
Really hoping they play well at Mizzou on Thursday and looking forward to watching on SEC Network.
Go Phoenix!

You need some cupcakes when you have an extremely young team and have had some teams drop off our schedule.....
