Bryant didn't waste any time getting in his face either. Loved it, happened right in front of me and that type of backup will payoff down the road. Nice game guys.

I also loved Bryant getting in Sulimon's face. Punk play buy the Dukie. What happened on the play? I wasn't able to watch the game, but kept up with the live stats a bit......

I think the play mentioned involved Eddy getting tangled up with the Duke defender (Soulimar sp?) who pushed Eddy and was called for a foul and a technical. It resulted in Elon making 4 foul shots but turning the ball over on the possession.

Elon just finished exams plus a long trip to Mo. So blah, blah, blah or boo hoo. Funny. But I would also say that, possibly due to travel to Missouri and/or erratic practice times due to the exam schedule and/or our playing numerous freshmen er, "first year" players, Elon also made many mistakes they may not have otherwise made. It's all relative. The thing that impresses me, regardless of holidays, exams or other distractions, is that the "Cameron Crazies" are always there in force. All things being equal, I wonder what may have happened if that game had been played in Alumni Gym. Of course, that will never happen.

I read this over on www.dukebasketballreport.com forum: Coach K was irate when that happened, likely because it was immediately after Sheed's tech and the subsequent ~20 free throws that Elon got as a result. That player, though, was actually Tanner Samson, who clubbed Tyus in the face trying blindly to knock the ball away. If you watched the replay, Samson didn't even touch Tyus. Tyus threw his head back, as he did many times when he was playing, without being touched. This is one of many "flop" moves which have been perfected by Duke players over the years. Paulos was the "King of Flop" several years ago. Looks like Tyus is now competing for that title. I despise that type of play.

This is a reply by another Duke poster to the above post:
I thought that the guy missed Tyus, and that Tyus just snapped his head back as a reaction. I know dd disagrees with me though (and agrees with you).

I'm not going to knock anything coach K says. I know a lot of people out there have disdain for Duke, but the guy is simply the best college coach ever.
The Duke fans sure didn't have nice things to say about Eddy. Looking at a replay, it simply looked like he was trying to keep himself from hitting the floor at full speed by grabbing on to his arm, and the Duke player didn't like that too much. But that's my opinion.

If you watch it in real time rather than slow motion, it looks like pure reaction to keep from hitting the floor, not an attempt at hyper extending an elbow.

I'm really enjoying reading the Duke threads complaining about Eddy...they got tangled up, period. Eddy is our most explosive scorer and I hope this game and the game he had against Missouri launch his confidence heading into league play...i think he could be a first or second team all-CAA player if he stays aggressive.I'm fine with him coming off the bench, but I'd like to see his minutes continue to increase as we get in conference games.
Duke fan - "Eddy was horrible. I hope whatever craphole league Elon is in looks at the tape of him tonight and suspends him. Pulling down an opposing player is dangerous and unacceptable. Sheed would have been in the right to deck him for that cheap move alone. His thuggish play the rest of the night up to and including with just seconds left would totally justify no one ever shaking his loser hand the rest of the season. I haven't seen a player that horrible since Hansborough."

Duke fan needs to go back and look at the tape. Does he remember a guy named Christian Laettner who played about as dirty as anyone. Nooooooooooooooo, those Dookie boys wouldn't do anything dirty. Give me a break.

DURHAM — Junior guard Rasheed Sulaimon has been dismissed from the fourth-ranked Duke men’s basketball program, the school announced Thursday. Sulaimon remains in good academic standing and is expected to finish the spring semester, according to the school. “Rasheed has been unable to consistently live up to the standards required to be a member of our program,” coach Mike Krzyzewski said in a statement. “It is a privilege to represent Duke University and with that privilege comes the responsibility to conduct oneself in a certain manner. After Rasheed repeatedly struggled to meet the necessary obligations, it became apparent that it was time to dismiss him from the program.” Sulaimon averaged 10.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game across 90 contests as a Blue Devil. The Houston produce posted a 39.1-percent career 3-point percentage (115-for-294) and scored in double-figures 49 times. Sulaimon received Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshman team honors in 2013 after averaging 11.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. As a sophomore, he shot a career-best 41.0 percent (43-for-105) from 3-point range but saw his scoring drop to 9.9 points per game. The decline, according to a release from Duke, was “due to inconsistent play on both ends of the floor.” Sulaimon averaged 7.5 points (sixth-most on the team). 2.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game this season. He was 52-for-126 (.413) from the field and 23-for-57 (.404) from 3-point range. He was arguably the top reserve for the team, based on his 19.3 minutes per game of playing time. His 19 steals rate third on the team. Sulaimon played 12 minutes in Wednesday night’s 77-73 loss at No. 8 Notre Dame. He scored three points in 12 minutes (matching his season low of playing time). Counting the Notre Dame game, Sulaimon scored in double figures in five of seven ACC games this season. Next up for Duke is Saturday night’s game at undefeated and second-ranked Virginia. Last year in a regular-season meeting at Cameron Indoor Stadium, Sulaimon made the game-winning 3-point shot as part of a 21-point performance.

Duke is 4 -3 in the conference and falling quickly. Their center, a projected #1 first round pick is playing soft and can't keep up with bigger more physical players. Overall. No leadership on the floor from the AAU guards. Sounds like a scape goat to me with Duke panicking quickly.

Sulaimon reminds me a lot of Rashad McCants from UNC. Lots of talent, but his bad attitude tripped him up. Duke fans complained about Eddy during that game, but Sulaimon exhibited thuggish play throughout that game. He may be a scapegoat, but he obviously helped himself into the pen.
