Was at the UNCG game today and a quick couple of items from the game:
1. Gutsy win by our team. Hamilton and Bryant stepped up and played a great game as did Blake, Samson, Thompson 2. Feel for Luke Eddy. The injury does not look good and he was our best player the past three games. Was on crutchers the second half and in pain. Word is the knee may need surgery. Kid was so agressive and really playing great ball. A shame to lose him. BIG LOSS. 3. We continue to get eaten alive on the boards. Winters and Saboto are good kids giving their all but we were dominated in the rebounding and also can not tell you how many blocked shots UNCG had on us. My hope is Dawkins gets better quick soon or we just redshirt him for next year. Need some help in the middle. 4. Was talking to some UNCG people at the game and they really admire Matt Matheny....their take is they have better talent but we have a better program and coach. I disagree on the talent part (except maybe their 2 big guys) but overall nice things to say about our program.
That's it for now. Everyone have a very Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the info. I watched the end of the game and wondered why Eddy was not playing. Let's hope the injury is not as bad as feared.

I agree with '78. Elon is getting nothing from our front-court. We will only go as far as they can take us. We have to get better. We have to have some help there. If our guards are not hitting their shots we won't have a chance. I'm worried about getting points in the paint.
Really worried.

92 points in the paint the last three games. 29 total from Sabato, Anton, Winters and Hairston in those games. That's what I'm worried about.

First and foremost, I want to say that I wish Luke Eddy a speedy recovery. He's obviously a talented young man, and a big part of the team. If Eddy is out, the rest of the season will be tough. Losing your leading scorer and leader is not good at all.
At the same time, I don't think that any of us would have thought the team would be above .500 just before the new year, nearly knocking off 2 teams from major conferences.
I have confidence they'll find a way win, and be competitive in most games.

hoping for a a speedy recover for Eddy as well, he is a spark plug. If there is any silver lining here, we are very deep at the point guard position. I think Hamilton will step up here as a senior and I expect Bryant to continue to develop this season as well.
Any word on Dawkins? Is he going to be red shirted?

Haven't heard any news about Eddy with regard to the amount of time he will be out. Just hearing the news that he was on crutches during the 2nd half tells me that he'll at least be out for the remainder of the non conference games, if not longer. We will certainly miss him, but this doesn't have to be a devastating loss. Austin is very good and can drive. Bryant is good, can drive and do the pull up jumper. Both are good point guards. Hairston will have to pick up his game in the paint as will Winters, Anton and Sabato. Samson will have to improve on his 3 pt. % and Hamilton and Luther will have to step it up to become 3 pt. threats as well. The entire team will have to pull together & get better quickly in order to make up for the Eddy void, but it can certainly be done. It just won't be easy. In the words of Coach K, we'll have to step it up and do the hard things well.

And if I remember correctly from a couple years ago, the team was down Troutman, Hamilton and Isenbarger and put together a nice little winning streak.
