Well, John Loughery has moved on. This leaves Elon with only four freshman QBs next year. Two will be redshirt freshmen, the Connor boys, and two will be true freshmen. One of each is on scholarship, the other two are walk-ons.
This leaves the team exceedingly thin at a position Skrosky always describes as critical. I hope these boys are ready.

Do you have confirmation on his departure?

When I saw the title of your thread I thought you were going to tell us Elon had picked up a QB transfer. Darn! Oh well, can only go up from here.
Go Phoenix!

Do you have confirmation on his departure? He didn't return from Christmas break. The coaches apparently informed him that he was going to be a backup. They did that to be fair to him, I think, but at the expense of the program. That's honorable.

I seem to recall they pulled Wes Pope away from outside linebacker and tight end depth chart and moved a QB names Hudgins into a Wideout.
if Loughery has to move on then so be it... We can only work with those that are there. It's Not like He led the league in total offense. We can only hope our newbies will get a fair shot. Outside of Thompson, Who is the other Fist Year signee?

Thompson is the only QB commit that I know of.
Loughery is still on the roster for what it's worth.

That Connor Christiansen kid looks a pretty good get at QB. Warren Ruggiero (remember that guy?) recruited him at Bowling Green.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they do at QB. We need more athleticism, for sure.
Let's see how it goes. CC was committed to a D-2 school before visiting us. U of Indianapolis.
It could be another long year. I really think we should be bringing in a transfer or JuCo guy for depth at QB. As I mentioned before, missing on at least three scholarship QB recruits during Swepson's tenure was a really big mistake/problem (Smith, Rice and Vasey).

But they were misses that did not take 5 years as a lot of QB's are recruited and then play another position. which these guys did not. Smith was injured and the others did not make it through the position shift. Also Thompson showed well at the Shrine Bowl so there some optimism. As for Swepson, He brought in a lot of kids and remember Browne has been Recruiting Coordinator for 3 regimes now. A winning atmosphere / culture has to be generated from the bottom up. We on the outside can speculate and give our POV but the end result will take shape this spring and summer. I am lighting a candle for a great and productive recruiting class.

Wake's starting QB was a Frosh last year. So, I can't imagine CC would get playing time for some time to come if the rumor is true and he decides to make the move. BTW, if Ruggiero thinks a lot of him that's a pretty good validation of CC.
