If in fact his contract was recently extended and there is a buyout, why is Blank not on the hook for that bad decision? To extend 4 years when he hadn't accomplished anything after 8 years is just dumb. It seems to me that Blank's entire tenure revolves around trying to do as little as possible as it relates to hiring and firing. A lot of action around football, but even that has been a result of fixing poor hires to begin with or the coach leaving. It's as if no one is held accountable for anything and it's maddening. I don't blame Matt...if someone is dumb enough to keep paying me $300K a year to not deliver on anything I said I was going to do, why wouldn't I take that? I agree with most everything you said here, but the only thing Blank did with football was fire Swepson. The action in football was initiated by the coaches in every case but one: Swepson. I'll bet Mr. Rhodes walked into Blank's office & said "It's either you or him" to get that done. Skrosky left on his own, as did Lembo and obviously Cignetti. For football, Blank has hired Swepson, Skroski, Cignetti and Trisciani. Trisciani was more of a promotion than a hire. Cignetti hired Trish, not Blank.

Nothing out yet means he’s going to be back. Same as last year. Next year is going to be a tough team to watch. Blank is killing the program.

Matheny has done nothing to warrant another season at the helm. Nice guy, good for the program? That’s great. But finishing in the cellar and going out in the first round (again) should be the deciding factor.
