Tied at 36 apiece at the half. Like what I'm seeing with Sheldon Eberhardt at PG. Seibring is also playing well today. Need a strong 2nd half!!

Good win on the road. Maybe moving Eberhardt on the ball will make for a more productive lineup. Priddy has his moments but has made some costly mistakes in big moments that could of been the difference in W and L's. Which is to be expected with the loss of a senior PG.
Interesting to see Poser and KK combine for only 16 minutes.
Could be a move to small ball? Glad to see Hannah and Wooten being productive. Even Andy Pack logged 20 minutes.
Future is bright under Matheny. We may finish above .500 in league play for a team that was picked last.

For the whole year, our leading underclassman scorer is Priddy at 7.3 PPG. This team is not built for the future whatsoever. Also, for Elon to be above .500 in league play that would require us to win at least 7 of the last 11, which will NOT happen. The CAA may be weak this year, but Matheny will still manage to lose the first game in the tournament. #FireMatheny

Yes, very bright.
The Freshman are starting to produce more consistently, less turnovers. They are buying in and learning to play the Elon way.
I said we "may'...not we WILL lol
C of C- L UNCW- W Delaware- L Drexel- W Hofstra- L Northeastern-L W&M-W UNCW-W CofC- W James Madison-W Towson- W
That would be 9-7.
The key is the next 9 with many on the road. The backend has more friendly road games and winnable home games.
If Matheny finished 9-7 without starting PG available (Swoope) then it should be #ExtendMatheny

First of all there are 18 conference games, so I'm not sure how you're getting to 9-7. Based on what you're predicting he would be 9-9, which would be incredible for the team.
I think your game-by-game predictions are a little bold for this team, but I won't get into that until the games are played. I agree that the team has been improving recently, but we are still a plus 300 team in the country.

The “Elon Way” you talk about had given us 5 division one wins in the past calendar year going into last night.
The freshman are buying in, obviously, because there’s no where else in division 1 that gave them offers (except Chuck). This staff is garbage. Without our 3 seniors we would be lucky to win 4 games total next year, even with major improvements from our guys. Matheny recruits garbage talent and is completely inept with in game coaching. Our assistants are so beyond under qualified it’s embarassing.
If I had to guess the W&M players are still running suicides after not showing up against one of the worst teams in division 1 basketball.

When does Matheny's contract expire? Glad to see a win, but lets not make a big deal about this W&M have a terrible record...

It won't expire, he will be getting extended once we finish .500 in conference play despite being the worse job in the conference per coaches in the CAA.
Plus losing a starting senior PG hurts, how many other CAA teams had to deal with that?
Anything over last place is an accomplishment for a program that is the worse job in the conference....how hard is it to understand?
They are zero expectations because they have been zero investment up to this point...which is the first season with new gym.
I heard coaches use to laugh about playing at Elon before the new gym saying it was a downgrade from High School gyms they go to recruit in.

Billy, the arena didn’t just fall from the sky onto our campus out of nowhere. Matheny has been able to show renderings, the construction, etc. for several years. Agreed with warrior, this roster wins 3 division one games at most next year.

LOL, Billy. I wish I had some of what you were on his weekend. I sure hope you are right, but you are not. The ceiling is 6-12 in CAA play

when did mediocre become acceptable...
We seem to have no issue firing bad football coaches, lets carry this mentality to bball. There is an abundance of evidence out there that shows the impact of a good basketball team. Donations, admissions, sponsorship all increase when you have a team capable of making it to March Madness. It is simple - If Elon wants to be a career .500 basketball program then Matt is our guy, but he does not have what it takes to win a very good mid-major conference.
Matt is the guy that you hire to take your team from nothing to somewhat relevant (i.e) Socon to CAA. He is not the guy that is going to hang a banner in a gym, he simply is not a good enough recruiter or x/o's to get you there.
Now lets talk about Swoop. I am not one to bash a player, but lets look at his stats a PG. That being the position that distributes the ball.
- Career assists of less then 3 per game - TO of ratio of almost 2 a game - A shoot percentage below 40% - A free throw percentage below 80% - A steals ratio of less than 1 per game - A points per game of less than 11
In summary, he doesn't pass well, he turns the ball over, he doesn't defend well and he is mediocre at shooting... I think the team actually got better with him out...just my two cents

"There are zero expectations because they have been zero investment up to this point...which is the first season with new gym." Zero investment / new gym ... Isn't that oxymoronic? A brand spanking new, and very nice arena, should be yielding better results. As it was mentioned - the gym is now a reality, but I'm confident coaches were showing promotional material for the facility to recruits, over the last several years.
