I like it. Excited to see what he can do. He gets the chance in year 1 to make the roster his with the number of graduates and transfers. Should be interesting to see how he recruits. Overall, very happy with this hire.

Great hire. Plenty of P5 experience. Recruiting coordinator/director of basketball operations at Duke makes me confident that he knows recruiting and will improve the talent coming into the program.

Engage the students. Engage the fans. Get us pumped about the future.
We must be clear. March is our goal. Period.

Good hire!
Glad the Doh rumors were just RUMORS.
Best of luck to Coach Schrage as he starts to rebuild.

Curious to see who he brings in for the staff. Also, who is going to create his Wikipedia page?

I like this hire. Elon needs to give him the resources he needs to win. Ready for next season already.
Go Phoenix!

I think Schrage's a really good hire. He's been known as a recruiting guru at least his last two stops. I'm curious to see how that translates to recruiting at a school like Elon.
I'm also curious to see if Priddy changes his mind now that there's been a coaching change and hopefully he and Schrage sit down and talk. I'd really like to get Priddy back.
I'm also interested in who he's going to hire as assistants. I don't think we'll see any of the admin coaches at OSU come with him as they're all OSU alum waiting for their chance on the bench there. There are some really good assistants out of work, I just wonder if Elon will give him a good enough budget that he could afford one or two of them. There are also some former Duke and Carolina players trying to break in to coaching that are around the area that could be intriguing.

Speaks volumes IMO that Holtmann brought him along from Butler to OSU as his main guy. You can argue that those jobs are more or less equal value, but OSU gave him the 8 year commitment. You have to imagine Holtmann knew with some success he would be poached at some point. Good hire, he will recruit, let’s get a good system implemented and see where we are 3-5 years from now. Yes, that’s the beginning of when it’s fair to judge Schrage, seeing as he’s taking on one of the 15-20 worst rosters in the country.

Priddy would be the only one of the three I’d let back in the door. However, I’d honestly rather take my chances with Wooten and any new, decent recruit Schrage can bring in. These guys made a commitment to the school, not the coach. Break that God bless you and best of luck for your non Elon future.

So Elon has to be paying the new coach over $400k annually...https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dispatch.com/sports/20181214/ohio-state-mens-basketball-combined-salaries-for-assistant-coaches-top-1-million%3ftemplate=ampart

I figured ball park $400k woukd be what it would take for a coach with a solid resume to take this job.
It has challenges and a coach will want to be paid well to take on the risk that those challenges present.
Hopefully Schrage will raise the profile of Elon just as Matheny did but to new heights, NCAA tourney bid and CAA title.
