Hey all! I know we faced a tough loss to Wake, but ya gotta think on the bright side... We get to beat JMU on our turf this time! The real question is can we hold up under injuries? Does anyone know if Weeks and Foster will be good to play, because we will need all the help we can get! Plus I am already certain that Davis Cheek will be having a good game. He is basically the best QB in the conference. Feel free to respond I will be gettin hype all week for this game!

Dig the optimism, but not quite sure I share it.
There is so much work to do against the pass, and Cignetti has DiNucci playing extremely well. His completion percentage is almost 75%.
Elon has played a tough schedule....top 25 A&T and El Cid, plus Wake is nearly ranked. That’s some pretty good prep going into the conference season. When it’s all said and done, Elon probably will have played one of the toughest schedules in FCS.
Hope everyone is healthy and ready to play!

Ya but last season no one thought that Elon had even the slightest chance of upsetting the Dukes' home win streak, but we did. I know that Cortez and Foster have been on concussion protocol, does anyone know if they will play? They are strong players that should be playing in this game, but I really hope everyone stays healthy.

With the dominant win yesterday, Wake moved into the Coaches poll at #24 and sits just outside of the AP top 25 (essentially #26).

Hey fellow CAA members! We have a thread going on over on the Collegiate Sports Nation board, if you want to join in on some friendly banter :https://csnbbs.com/thread-883365-post-16318279.html#pid16318279
One of the subjects in that thread is, how the heck do we buy tickets? Someone mentioned $32 a pop as the lowest single game ticket. Nothing is on Stubhub. Any suggestions for JMU fans who may want to make the drive out to Elon?
Thanks in advance!

Agree, these kids are gonna have to dig deep. I saw some players giving up towards the end. What happened to the 4th quarter belief last season. We may lose but we should NEVER give up. The intensity went down . Cheek will be ready. Weeks and Matt should be good I heard will be ready. Haven’t heard about Pete. Defense needs to work hard on the passing D. This is the game of the year. These kids need to lock in to win!! We have to win this game or we may have a hard time making the playoffs especially since we have 2 byes this year even with our strength of schedule.

It's family weekend, which is usually near capacity no matter the opponent. Combine that with the matchup and tickets are harder to come by than usual. Last year's family weekend game against UNH was nearly 11K. Go Phoenix!

Lets get this Dub! are there any other injuries that we need to evaluate to get this win? What kind of gameplan do we need to drive the football and hold them on the run?

It's the first time I've seen this in over two years and it really pissed me off to be honest. Never an excuse for not playing balls out until the final whistle. On the other side, I watched a rerun of the JMU/UTC game yesterday. JMU is no better than last year on Offense and didn't look as good on defense. It's going to be a tough win, but if the Phoenix gives it's all for 60 minutes, it's definitely doable.

I think it was more about wearing down NOT about giving up, It was darn hott out there and Wake's backups did get a lot of reps. We will be well served playing at ACC speed and size so JMU will not scare us. Please come early JMU could bring as many fans as We have not counting the parents w/E surge.

We threw 5 times in the 2nd half and once in the final 3 series. Not sure the players were the ones that gave up.
Watch the game or better yet go to it.

I can accept they were tired & hot. I also noticed the play calling. But, to say they were not distracted in the 4Q is erroneous. I'll leave it at that. Last week doesn't matter except to learn from. On to JMU.

On to JMU. not so fast. I could care less about hot and tired its football. The 4th quarter score was 7-0 wake. How about an example of distraction in the 4Q to your point above? Offense or defense? We threw 1 pass play and we gave up 1 touchdown.

It wasn’t necessarily giving up as I see it. You are down big and there is not gonna be a comeback (let’s be honest here). It’s conservative play calling to keep the clock moving and get out of there without any unnecessary injuries. That’s the way I viewed it at least.
