Elon has a chance to earn a good CAA conference win tonight vs Towson. Elon is only a four point underdog at home vs a Towson. Towson is a team we can guard. Last outing vs Delaware showed some promise offensively but the defensive performance was sometimes disappointing. McIntosh played his best game of the season vs a D-1 opponent. He actually appeared to have the ability to play PG. Our PG position has been our biggest problem this season offensively. Don't wish to knock McIntosh, I feel he can play but he appears to have shooting guard skills trying to play PG with more turnovers than assists. If the commitment to defense returns tonight and McIntosh can take care and distribute the ball along with our continuing to make our perimeter shots (not expecting a repeat of 12-25 from behind the arch but close to 40%) should put us in a position to get a home CAA victory. Prediction Elon 67 Towson 66.

definitely following. This team has potential, but between baggage and youth they've had a tough year. I still feel we're very close to having something special. I'll be there tonight.

I am following the team. And I appreciate folks like you commenting on the team's performance, etc.

I'm following. There's a lot to look forward to in the future. In my view, this year is mostly about getting experience for a lot of these young guys and as a fan I'm looking for on-court growth irrespective of the final score. I feel like we've seen a lot of positives in the last few CAA games - including tonight - even though the games haven't gone the way we might want.

I think epx nailed it. The hangover effect of the past number of years, little depth and having to start a lot of youth, takes its toll. Look for a turn around 2020-2021... .500 type season on the horizon and hopefully, continue to improve from there.

on our way to another 20 loss season close loses are just that This unqualified statement tells me that you just like to espouse the shallow, low information view that a loss is a loss and there are no moral victories. It is also obvious that you do not follow this team beyond checking scores on the internet. Yes, we are on “our” way to another 20 loss season. But, we are, in most cases, competing even though we’re doing it with true freshmen and de facto freshmen, (total lack of development under Matheny). We have had more exciting games this season than we had in the past 5 seasons combined. It’s too bad you’ve missed them. Your crass statement takes all the hard work, development and progress the coaching staff and team have made and tosses it in the schitter. My apologies if it wasn’t intended that way, but it sure sounds that way.

This program needed something. Change. Our roster is garbage thanks to the bad recruiting under the last staff. Anybody who knows hoops can see this.
I can say this. Our kids are working their butts off. Our staff is working their butts off.
We will be better.

It's a total rebuild obviously so all you want is effort and see if the guys play with heart and guts. End of game scenarios have to improve for a chance is getting some W's. I'll be hopeful.

Good chance to get a W today, though I'm still more focused on seeing game-to-game growth from the freshmen than I am on the final score.

I wish our old staff had recruited better. Would not be an issue.

I wish Sheffield had another year. Me too. This is premature, however what I’ll be looking for next season is how well Woods, McIntosh and Ervin develop. Under Matheny, we would expect all three to have a sophomore slump. I’m expecting McIntosh to be the team leader, Woods to take Sheffield’s place as the team scoring anchor and Ervin to be the go to long range bomber. We will have another post option in Graham. Assuming this development, Elon should be at least a solid mid pack team int he CAA.

My expectation is he'll bring a lot of defensive toughness and work ethic. Yeah, he didn't play much in Indy. He was super raw and a project, and if you know his story you know why. I think Elon stands to benefit in a big way from the three years of hard work he's put in.

I'm following them from Northern VA and wish I could get down for another game but can't. They could have won the game I saw in person (12/30 - W&M) but missed FT doomed them. I liked what I saw in McIntosh, Woods and Ervin. It's going to take another year. As folks pointed out, the cabinet was bare when Schrage got here. Schar Center is a great facility and I hope Elon can use this to their advantage in recruiting. In for the long haul, will keep supporting the program through season tickets and responding to campaigns like Elon Day.
