So it seems that every other CAA team except JMU has given up on football for the fall. UNCW and College of Charleston are all that seems left in other sports. So what's the plan? Is it just a matter of time?

I believe that Elon is pursuing for 2020 on an independent schedule, whatever that means. I believe JMU , Towson, Delaware are in the same mindset. Travel is a big issue but Campbell Furman Wofford are also possibilities w/ other SC schools. I am glad the team is working on their plan as Elon does have a lot of accountability factors in place. IMHO it shows We have some guts to keep moving to make something good from a lot of negative. I wish us well.

Towson & Delaware both suspended fall sports for the fall, as did Richmond, W&M, etc.

It is sad to look on the 2020 schedule and see 4 games right now. Obviously this probably isn't going to happen this year but what else do we have to talk about.
If the ACC doesn't go conference only we can keep Duke. Here is a schedule I put together purely based off who's games were canceled that week. Two are a bit of a drive but I am sure we could find other games if we moved teams around but this was a quick search
Sep 5 Citadel Sep 12 Duke Sep 19 Campbell or VMI Sep 26 NC State or Monmouth (NJ) Oct 3 Wofford Oct 10 Gardner-Webb Oct 17 Oct 24 St Francis (PA)- 7-hour drive Oct 31 Kennesaw St - 5:30-hour drive / UCF is also open Nov 7 JMU Nov 14 North Alabama 9-hour drive Nov 21 Charleston Southern

So is Elon out for football, or are they with JMU, A&T and handfuls of others that are going to try to go as independents?

My guess is the Duke game is gone. With the ACC only having 1 OCC game(in state), and Charlotte already on there schedule we will get bumped

Inevitable unfortunately. Honestly, with so many other schools out, I wasn't overly excited about the idea of a randomly thrown together season.
Hopefully things take a turn for the better over the next 3-4 months and we can have basketball and a hell of a spring season. The idea of every Elon sport competing in the spring would be interesting to see if it were to happen.
Go Phoenix!

My prediction is none of them get played in the spring. I really hope I’m wrong.

I would have to agree. I think from a facility standpoint it would be difficult but it is easier now that we have the Schar Center - but also from a staff where many people in the support side carry over from sport to sport - facility, operations, SIDs, athletic trainers, strength staff etc. Would be a huge strain on these staffs.
