You need to return to the jmu board where you can feel some pity and spread more sour grapes.

Wow...few other words come to mind. Last night's game was just wow. One more and this team is dancing, something I doubted deeply a month ago. Can't wait to watch it tonight!

I desperately want a tournament appearance to get jacked up for after all these months of COVID ruining everything I enjoy

Winning four games in four nights was always going to be tough. I think you saw that tonight in the poor three point shooting. Tired legs.
Really proud of this team for how they finished out the season. Hopefully getting that close will only fuel their desire to get back there next year. I think Schrage and the coaching staff did a really good job this season with all the curve balls they've been thrown between injuries and the long Covid layoffs. Next season looks like it has potential to be a big year.

Disappointing, but really proud of the effort the 2nd half of the season. A few more of those threes falling could have changed things.
The only thing that I don't understand is why Michael Graham continues to get so few minutes when he has such a huge impact when he's in the game. The coaching staff obviously knows what they're doing, but that doesn't make sense to me.
Next year could be really special with the full group back.
Go Phoenix!

Couldn't be prouder....came to play, but, as was mentioned, just ran out of gas. Folks - a program is being built, and the future is bright!

I agree the future is bright. It certainly should be since Blank came up with an extra million dollars, or thereabouts, to pump in to the program over the past two years.

Disappointing night, but promising future. Clear that the legs of our core 7-8 guys were shot. Schrage seems to like to play more guys (10 or so) in the first (such as Graham) before tightening the rotation to 7-8 in the second. Understandable the desire to want veterans in the game at end but I agree that weâll always wonder âwhat if Graham couldâve been the rim presence needed to give them a spark in the last 20?â
With that said, fantastic job by the staff and players this year turning what looked like a lost year into a step-forward. Hard not to be excited about the potential and depth for next year.
-Mac, Noord -Burford, Wooten, Harris - Ervin, JBG - Woods, Michael, Sherry - Graham, Hannah, Fed
Wouldnât expect us to be in the transfer market, but would be hard to not be tempted by getting another big guy to help out. Grahamâs potential however seems limitless.

Very proud of the effort these players showed over the last week. They were just flat worn out in the end.

Agree with most of the comments made. Team really turned it around from what looked like a lost season not long ago. Looked awful in that first game against Charleston and completely turned it around the next night and going forward.
Guard play by Elon was really good in the tournament but agree that they looked to have run out of gas. Still had a good chance to win but Drexel shot out of their minds from three. That might also be somewhat attributed to tired legs on defense. Also just didn't hit enough shots.
Was really hoping to have a NCAA tournament appearance to get excited for but at least we got a fun ride in the conference tournament. Things are definitely looking good for next year and I'm hoping that the program has turned a corner.
I'm sure Schrage has his reasons but Graham's usage was the one thing that perplexed me the second half of the season. I saw the team in person for the first time in Charleston and that was my biggest takeaway - he needed more minutes. He added a spark on offense and defense last night when he was in and was probably a little fresher than some of the other guys. He should have gotten more run.

Grahamâs potential however seems limitless. I expect JGB to be back in the starting lineup if his recovery goes well. He sets the tone for defense. I'd expect to see a lineup of Mac, Ervin, JGB, Woods Graham With Burford first off the bench backing up both Mac and Ervin, and then Hannah second. I really like that 7-man rotation if everyone is back and healthy. The rest of the depth chart should get sorted by how off season development goes. If guys like Hannah, Poser, Michael make good progress, I could see them eating significant minutes. Do we know yet if Ndguba or Wright are wanting to take advantage of the extra year?

Good point on JBG. Usual recovery time for ruptured achilles is 10-12 months so I'd expect them to ease him into the lineup. Assuming he's healthy he should be getting starter minutes. Same for Ervin, but considering his ACL tear was in Nov and shorter recovery time with that, I'd expect (hope) he will open as a starter.
For frontcourt players, Michael is the real wild card. Obviously a disappointing year for him with his shoulder, but assuming it is all cleared up come preseason he could be a contender for big minutes at the 3/4 spots. He gives us a dynamic athlete that could play bigger guys on D and pick up our offensive pace. I'm a bit lower on Hannah and Fed. I think Hannah is a great reserve big. Plays hard, defends reasonably well given his size, but limited on offensive end. Fed has the post moves and that's about it. Basically a CAA version of Enes Kanter minus the rebounding. Can use his size/moves to score against weaker competition, but gets eaten alive defensively. Like a lot of Matheny recruits, he just doesn't have the athleticism to play against strong competition. That's why Graham's offseason development is so critical. If he can gain some strength to bang with the bigs and get more comfortable on the offensive end, he can change the trajectory of next year's team.
As for Ndguba and Wright, I'd expect them to be gone. No sources at all on that, just given the current stage of our roster I can't seem them getting the same number of minutes next year and unfortunately, they would thwart our team's development.
